Jeff Stokoe

District Umpire

937-546-5675

Jeffrey Stokoe began his involvement with Little League 20 years ago when his son began playing Tee Ball with the Moraine – West Carrollton Little League. His son is grown and on his own, but Jeff remains a part of Little League, still involved with the Moraine – West Carrollton LL program. The in years with that league he has served as an umpire, the Umpire-in-Chief (1998 – 2007) and a member of the Board of Directors (1998 – present). His involvement has expanded beyond the local league. In 2002 he attended the Central Region Umpire School in Indianapolis Indiana. He was appointed a Ohio District 8 Staff Umpire in 2000, serving as the District 8 Umpire-in-Chief in 2007 2009. Currently he is the Assistant Umpire Consultant for Ohio District 8. He was one of the founding members of the Ohio District 8 Umpire Association in 2007, serving as President from its founding to the present.

He has umpired in 3 Central Region Tournaments in both Baseball and Softball, numerous State Tournaments in both baseball and softball. In 2009 he reached the pinnacle for a Little League umpire when he umpired in the 2009 Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania, culminating in being a member of the crew for the Championship Game.

Beyond umpiring he currently serves as the Assistant District Administrator for Ohio District 8 since 2009.

While his son is an adult he now is also a Little League Umpire and it is often that the two of them work games together, once again sharing the common bond of Little League. When asked why he remains with Little League his answer is clear: “I want to be a part of an organization that sets the stage for each and every participant to step up and shine. In Little League everyone gets their moment in the spotlight, and the smile of a child achieving and having fun is priceless!”
