The Eau Claire Fall Baseball League (ECFBL) was established in 2010 to provide local baseball players the opportunity to develop their skills and continue to learn about the game of baseball in the fall.
The league is divided into three divisions:
- Middle School Division - An instructional league for incoming 7th and 8th graders.
- High School Division - An instructional league for incoming freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
- Advanced Division - An advanced league for players 18 years old and younger. Participation in the Advanced Division requires a tryout. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, July 27th at 6:00 pm at Mt. Simon Park. The top 48 players, regardless of age, will be placed on one of four teams. If you are not selected for the Advanced Division your son will be placed in the division that corresponds with your son's grade for the 2016-2017 school year.
Each division (except for the Advanced Division) will consist of between 4-6 teams of 11 or 12 players each. The rosters for each team will be selected with the intent of making each team as equal as possible to maximize the level of competition in each division. Special requests for players to be placed on same team may be made on the registration form. All requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability, but there are no guarantees.
Teams will play two 7-inning games for 4 consecutive Saturdays. The first three weeks will be "league play" in which teams will play doubleheaders each Saturday. Once league play is complete, the teams will be seeded based upon their league play record and will compete in a double elimination tournament to determine the ECFBL Champion. With the regular season schedule and post-season tournament, all individuals are guaranteed a minimum of 8 games. All games and practices will be held at Mt. Simon Park.
The emphasis of the ECFBL is player development, not wins and losses. It is our goal to help each participant develop their baseball skills and knowledge in the fall. More importantly, it is our goal to have fun learning the game of baseball. Understanding this, coaches are instructed to maintain playing time for each participant that is as equal as possible.
Players may still register after the deadline, but a $15 late fee will be added to the registration fee.
