Im running behind on the site update this week. The groundwork is done but it needs to still be on the site. Heres the updates. And the site will be complete tomorrow

Offensive Player Of The Week Jose Rosario Cowboys (275 yards 5tds)
Defensive Player Of The Week Mike Flaherty Eagles (6 flags, 1 Sack)

Eagles vs. Gators

This game was slated to be a competitive game with the Gators and Eagles both coming off wins but the Eagles came out swinging from the opening whistle and never looked back. QB Brian Gelsomino had a quiet day through the air with 95 Passing Yards and 2 TDs. Marcus Mccray ran for 84 Yards and a TD and he also caught for 54 Yards and another TD. Jay Gelsomino and Bryce Metzger each had Receiving TDs also. Defensively Mike Flaherty had 6 Flag grabs and a Sack and Alby Gray also contributed with 3 flag grabs and a Sack. The Gators struggled to get anything going through the air. Dave Logan had 122 Yards and 1 TD but this game was over from the beginning. Logan ran for 56 Yards as well. Shane Lockhart had 2 flag grabs and 2 sacks on defense for the Gators who took two tough losses Sunday. The Eagles are looking like a very competitive team and week in and week out continue to improve. This is a team who quietly can compete in their conference down till the end. For the Gators, this loss most likely brings them back down the earth. They won a couple games on the back end of teams double headers, and finally felt the wrath of having 2 games vs. two tough opponents. This isn’t the end for the Gators, but they need to improve to stay atop their conference.

Player of the Game- Marcus McCray- 84 Rushing Yards, 54 Receiving Yards, 2 TDs

Hit Squad vs. Havoc

On paper this seemed like a defensive battle especially with Hit Squad not having their “Rock Star” there on offense. It was a good bounce back game for Hit Squad and a good situation mentally getting a win without Rocket there. Demitri Lucy passed fo r65 Yards and a TD and Stacy Asberry ran for 77 Yards and a TD also. Larry Hapton had a 65 Yard TD receiption as well for the Hit Squad. On the defensive side, Tylon Chaney recorded 4 flag grabs and Sean “Smooth” Haynes had 2 flag grabs and a sack. Havoc could have certainly used a big win and came close Sunday but they couldn’t get it done. Their offense again seemed to struggle as it has most of the year. Jose Colon passed for 155 Yards and a TD. Colon also rushed for 83 Yards on the day. Alex Robles had 81 Receiving Yards for Havoc. Robles also was the top performer on defense with 3 flag grabs. Hit Squad made a statement against a solid opponent. They were able to secure a win without their starting QB. In their tough division, a win without Rocket will go a long way for this team in order to stay in the playoff hunt. For Team Havoc, they just don’t seem to have the same confidence they have once had. Robles back at QB is probably a good decision for this team, but if they don’t start getting a few wins under their belts and soon, they will be playing in the Open or “JV” Playoffs.

Player of the Game- Stacy Asberry- 77 Rushing Yards, TD

Gators vs. Cowboys

The Gators received their second ass whooping of the day in this one courtesy of the Cowboys. Jose “Gor” Rosario has really transformed this team into a quiet contender. He passed for 275 Yards and 5 TDs and also commited zero turnovers. The ball was spread around to multiple different targets, Rick Padilla having 64 Receiving Yards and a TD, Joe Rivera having 74 receiving yards and 2 TDs, Ish Santos having 76 Receiving Yards and a TD and lastly Justin Walters also checked in with 87 Receiving Yards and a TD. Not too often do you see the ball spread out to every weapon for similar type numbers, Rosario played probably his best game yet. On defense, Jon Cummings got in the action with 3 flag grabs and an INT and Cleveland Patterson recorded his league leading 5th Interception on the season. The same write up for the Gators in their previous game, could be copied and pasted here. They were outmatched, over worked and beat down again in this game. Dave Logan passed for a low total of 98 Yards and a TD. Luis Perez had a solid day defensively with 2 flag grabs and an INT as well but the Gators were simply out classes this past Sunday in 2 games. For the Cowboys, their schedule is certainly not the hardest out there but they are playing tough vs. whoever is on their schedule and you cannot fault them for that. Rosarion and company were vastly improved last season, and it looks like they against have gotten better this year which is very impressive.

Player of the Game- Jose “Gor” Rosario- 275 Passing Yards, 5 TDs

Knights vs. Bearcats

A lot of people expected a high powered shoot out with 2 great offenses battling and they got a defensive battle down to the last few minutes of the game. The Knights came out on top in a pretty ugly game on the stat sheet. QB Scott Bard passed for 77 Yards and zero scores. RB Brian Ferguson had 70 rushing yards and the only offensive score for the Knights. Sean Aldieri had a solid game with 68 Receiving Yards and Garry Coles contributed in the special teams game more than anything else with a huge punt return to set the tone in that one. Sean Aldieri had 4 flag grabs and Ryan Gemmell had 5 flag grabs for the Knights who played stingy defense all day only allowing a score on the Bearcats last drive. For the Bearcats they did move the ball slightly better than the Knights but got no scores out of it when it mattered. QB Josh Spence passed for 164 Yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Pat Jubrey was his top target on offense with 65 Receiving Yards and a TD. Dawud Hanif and Matt Hebert each had 4 flag grabs as well defensively speaking. The Garry Coles vs. Kert Hussey matchup was a boring one to watch. Each player locked the other down and this led to a slow paced game. The Knights came out the victors, proving to the league that maybe their defense isn’t as bad as everybody is saying they are. If they get Angiletta and Riddell back they can make some noise still. The Bearcats need to get their offense going and the rest should follow.

Player of the Game- Brian Ferguson- 70 Rushing Yards, TD

Vikings vs. Gang Green

In another blowout game the Vikings destroyed team Gang Green 48-0. QB Scott Dolch came back after a tough game last week with a 319 Yard, 5 TD performance. He spread the ball around to 3 of his talented WRS. Ivan Schmidt had 106 yards and a TD. LJ Colon had 84 Yards and 2 TDs and Bobbi Lorenti had 80 Yards anda TD as well. Defensively speaking, they played as good as you could in this type of game. Cambree Brown had 2 flag grabs and 2 Sacks, and LJ Colon had an INT as well for the Vikings. Gang Green may finally have come to the realization that truthfully, they are playing in a league that they don’t belong in. Matt Blanchette had a tough day at Qb with 72 yards and an INT. No stats were really worthy of reporting ouside of Vincent Parziale with 2 flag grabs and a sack on defense for Gang Green. The Vikings did what they do best. Beat down on lower opponents. They know how to attack soft defenses and Dolch picked apart this slow defense for a great game. This was a good bounce back win for the Vikings who had a few tough weeks in a row in the CFFL. Gang Green there really isn’t much to report. They are “who we thought they were”. These guys are an instant win for whomever the opponent is. When we heard of a team from Waterbury, we expected a team who can compete. This team has to get on the same page and hopefully muster a few wins with only about a month left till playoffs.

Player of the Game- Scott Dolch- 319 yards, 5 TDs

Raiders vs. Bulldogs

It was blowout central for most of this week and this game had blowout written all over it from day 1. The Bulldogs who didn’t have starting QB Mike Cervezzi beat up on the Raiders in a 32-7 smashing. Offensively speaking, the Bulldogs didn’t do anything spectacular. Steve Bartunek and Steve Gonzales did enough to win the game as Gonzales through for a TD and bth combined for 182 yards. David Correa had 46 Yards and a TD and Calvin Harris had 75 Yards and a TD. They had 2 “Pick 6’s” on defense as Tyrece Nickson returned a long INT to the house and Steve Bartunek also intercepted a Terry Scruse pass and returned it for a score. On defense Jamaica Johnson had 3 flag grabs and 2 sacks, and Tishay Johnson had 4 flag grabs, and a sack as well. The Raiders had a tough time in this game vs. a top tier team. Terry Scruse passed for 163 Yard and a TD but had 3 INTs and 2 INT for TDs. Lyndell Bowen made his return to the Raiders with 58 Yards and a TD. On defense #14 had a BIG day with 6 flag grabs, and 4 sacks. The Bulldogs basically did what was expected of them. Destroying the undermanned Raiders. They have come out this year, without too many bigtime pickups and did exactly what they always do. Compete with the best teams, and beat down the bad teams. They have to be considered a major contender if they can finally beat the Gunz when it matters. The Raiders are definitely a team in repair. They have the same old bunch of guys who you commend for showing up every week, but quite frankly aren’t very fun to watch and aren’t a major threat to upset any good team.

Player of the Game- David Correa- 5 Rushing Yards, TD, 46 Receiving Yards, TD and 2 flag Grabs, INT
