| You can't blame him for giving up.Don't know from one day to another whats going on at the track.I'm very surprised he was the only one that give it up after the foolishness that went on over the top 5.Maybe next year Bern will have things figured out at the start of the year not at the end.

| I think that robbie is the only driver that had the guts to 'make a stand' for what he belived in by staying home. I know that there is no other driver in there that likes racing as much as rob do.

| LOL, if Robbie liked racing as much as everyone else he wouldnt have given up over such a trivial matter. This isnt Nascar who cares if extra people get in on the chase? If you read the rule book you would know that the 80% rule was in long before the top 5 for the chase rule.

| If the 80% rule was supposed to be part of the deal then why didn't they just state it that way? Why did they have these guys doing their absolute best to keep their spot every week and then at the last minute pull the rug out from under them and magically produce the 80% rule?

| it is not the point that the 80% are in ,no one lost there position they were just put closer together in points.the top 5 were still the top 5.do you think if someone says they loved racing as much as him he would race as hard for last place as the would for first.i guess he wasn't in it for the fun of it.i don't see the other top 5 staying home!!!!

| I keep hearing this 80% rule but it does not state that anyone who has 80% of races in will be in the race for the championship.I had to get it out and read it and it states that anyone with 80% in will be eligible for awards.How Bern interprets this well is up to him after all he owns the track.The top 5 wouldn't mean the top 6 or 7 would it.We know how #52 feels,ask the other 4 how they feel about it.

| CAR #52 IS AFRAID OF THE COMPETITION YOU DONT SEE KNOW ONE ELSE QUITTING STAY HOME ROBBIE YOUR TO CHILDISH.EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A CHANCE FOR IT ANYWAY AND I THINK DEAN MARTIN SHOULD OF BEEN IN IT ANYWAY HES THE BEST DRIVER OVER THERE BY FAR SO WHAT HE MISSED A FEW RACES SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO WORK AND HAVE MORE GOING ON IN THERE LIVES THEN RACING IN AVONDALE THATS WHY ROBBIE QUIT CAUSE DEAN IS IN THE CHASE AND HE KNOWS DEAN WILL BLOW HIM OUT OF THE WATER "GO DEAN" YOU CANT GO THROUGH LIFE BEING AFRAID YOU HAVE TO FACE YOUR FEARS SOMEDAY.

| if bern ever decides to have this $2000 competition again and dean martin is in the top 3 cars in points he might only let the top 3 cars race for the $2000!I often wonder who makes the rules sometimes.

| get out of your dream by,dean was 6th in points if that was true don't you think there would only be 6 in the chase.there were 2 other cars that made the chase also maybe he changed the rules so car 32 could get in.

| Everyone is missing the point here.It should have been stated from the beginning that everyone have a chance not at the end.Where do some people get off by forming opinions about why 52 gave up? How would you know? Did anyone bother to ask him why he's not racing anymore because I'm quite sure it was not because of a fear of Dean.After all 52 has raced out there the past few years and so has Dean.I've spent alot of time at the speedway the past few years down in the pit area.I've seen alot of things and I've heard alot of things and as a fan I can say that I thought 52 was a good sport.He always congratulated the winner even when it was Dean.To me that shows great sportsmanship not your so-called fear and childish behavior.

| It didn't look like 52 was too afraid of Dean the last weekend he was out there.As I recall 52 was going around with the checkered flag.Wasn't Dean in that race?Come back 52 and show us some more checkered flags.
