I said in a previous post that I'm not gonna leave any more goodbye posts before I leave, and I will hold true to that! However, there is one sure-fire way to get rid of me for good! There has been some very serious talk on here about Avondale going to pavement, and if it does, I'll be outta here in a heartbeat! I just want to say that I've grown up around dirt tracks, and have probably been to more than a couple thousand dirt races in my life! I've also been to a few pavement races, and there's no comparision(in my opinion)! I've also seen tracks that were dirt go to pavement, and it almost always turns out to be a mistake! Most of these tracks either went back to dirt, folded and in very rare cases did okay, but it's extremely rare when a track does better once it's paved! I saw a post where someone said it would cost a couple million to pave the track! They better hope they have some serious backing, and they sure better hope there is a huge payoff in the end with attendance and stuff! If it was me, what I would do is instead of paving it, I'd put down a whole bunch of new clay(without the rocks!), and just make general improvements to whatever needs to be done! I wouldn't mess with a good thing! Like I stated in a previous post, there has already been drivers say they won't run there if it's paved! However, judging by the comments people have made over the last 2 or so years, the attendance will go up if some improvements are made to the facility! A better facility means more cars which means more people which means maybe a bigger payout which means even more cars which means even more people which means even more $$$$ in the long run! I'd make damn sure that I'd be getting that before I would even consider laying down the ashphalt! Like I said, these are just my opinions, maybe the owner has everything all figured out and knows something we don't! I just know that if it was me, I'd do what I said I'd do! If the track does go pavement, you will lose me on here for good, and Avondale will definately be off my list of speedways to attend in the future!

have to agree the 2 pavement tracks that i can only remember being opened on the east coast of nl.the one in shoe cove(knights)the one in the goulds(spencers)closed up for financial reasons.maybe would be a good idea to stick with the dirt track if past history means anything.
