DIVISIONAL AND CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
June 21, 2010 - 05:18 PM

DIVISIONAL

-Gatorz were in an all out battle with the Mass. Ravens who just finished pouncing on the E.Hartford Panthers. Gatorz score late to be down just 1 and decide to go for 2 and the win instead of 1 and continue keep the season alive. They fail the conversion and a questionable play call as in the playoffs it “SURVIVE AND ADVANCE”.

-Bull dogs knock the #2 seed Oilers out of the playoffs in Bull Dogs 2nd game of the day. Bull dogs beat the Warriors in the Wild card and take out the Oilers 19-13 as #5 Calvin Harris returns to the field after suffering a severe shot to the head that left a huge gash. Oilers get 1 and doned!

-Starrs get what they were looking for and as everyone expected get destroyed. Steelers were just too much for the Starrs as the bigger faster smarter Steelers run up the score board 32-12

-The undefeated Knights faced the leagues defending champion Steelers in what was a surprisingly very controlled game by the Steelers. Although down Knights Qb Jon Esmail did everything in his power to keep answering back the Steelers fast paced scoring. Another top seed falls and the 1st round bye goes to no use as the Steelers give the Knights their first lost of the season 33-21.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

-The Bull dogs and Steelers meet up in a game to play for the chip. Both wild card teams in their 3rd game of the day, and both knocking off the #1 and #2 seeds in their conference. Bulldogs had a late 7-6 lead in the 2nd half... On 4th down inside their 10… The Steelers elected to punt the ball back to the Bulldogs and an untimely error Kendal “Swin” Brown fumbled the snap to give the Bulldogs the ball back. The Bulldogs capitalize off the Steelers mistake and extend the lead to 13-7…. Steelers bounce back and score very late in the game to be down by 1 and elect to go for 2 and the win. The conversion failed … Bull dogs get the ball back and are forced to punt… Steelers get in field goal range with 1 second remaining in regulation...and missed wide left….and I mean wiiiiiiide left by “the Maybac” Deveane Meade . Bull dogs win 13-12. The 2nd questionable conversion call on the day as its not the regular season where there is a tomorrow…as the saying goes again….. “SURVIVE AND ADVANCE”

-After blanking Fearnun in the divisional 18-0, the Young Gunz beat up on the Mass. Ravens in the ACC conference championship. The Ravens had a chance o make it a game after being down 13-0 driving down to the gunz 1 yard line… Michael “Chief” Petersen makes a TD saving flag to keep the Ravens scoreless and take the 2 score lead into the half…. Which set up a showdown for the HFFL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP….NEW BRITAIN YOUNG GUNZ v.s WILLIMANTIC BULL DOGS

SUNDAYS WILD CARD HIGHLIGHTS
June 21, 2010 - 04:17 PM

The Hits squad squander an 8 point lead with around 2 minutes left in the 2nd half allowing Fearnun to score a TD and convert a 2 point conversion to send the game into overtime. Fearnun capitalizes in OT to send Hit squad home packing 14-8

The Steelers faced what the league called a soft team and MVP Josh Spence. The MVP could not get it done as then Steelers just outmatched them in every aspect of the game with a final score of 32-12

SATURDAY PLAY IN TOURNAMENT HIGH LIGHTS
June 21, 2010 - 03:23 PM

Saturday there were some interesting games for 2 teams to receive the final spots in Sunday’s playoff. The Panthers were the surprise team to come out of Saturdays to make Sundays Playoff knocking off the Razorback and then the Outlaws to Advance to Sundays Playoff.

The Warriors of Southington had a very hard fault battle against the Saints as once again their secondary gets scorched for deep touchdowns to keep the Saints in it. Warriors defense give up a TD late to lose the lead with just over 1 minute left. But Josh Withee and the Warriors High flying offense score to regain the lead with a pass to Nick Colagiovanni with about 55 seconds left…With 1 second remaining Terry Cruse of the Saints throws a hail Mary to a wide open receiver in the end zone who drops the ball with no one around allowing the Warriors to advance and play the Vikings. Vikings lose to the Warriors easily as the Vikings lack of a passing game could not expose the warrior’s defense. Warriors get final playoff spot.
