Offensive PLayer Of The Week- Scott Bard (Knights)- 286 Passing yards, 5 TDs, Rushing TD.

Defensive PLayer Of The Week- Doug Cotto (Young Gunz)- 5 flag pulls, 4 sacks

Bulldogs vs. Franchise

I think this was certainly one of the better games of the day. Two heavy hitting teams throwing punches back and forth to the end. Bulldogs were missing their QB but they weren’t missing their star and in my opinion best football player in the state Tyrece Nixon. This kid took over on every aspect of the game Sunday. He passed for 43 Yards, Ran for 112 Yards and a TD, Caught 3 balls for 38 Yards and a TD and also recorded a flag on defense for good measure. His elusive 99.9 yard run from his own 1 yard line was something I have never seen before. Also playing well was Calvin Harris with 4 Catches for 45 Yards. Franchise definitely made strides in this one and was no pushover. New QB and League journeyman Mike Colavito passed for 210 yards and a TD and was a dropped touchdown catch in the last seconds away from leading Franchise back with little time left. Lamar Kimber shined on offense with 61 Receiving Yards for Franchise. Carlito Colon also had 2 sacks on defense for Team Franchise.

Player of the Game- Tyrece Nixon- 193 All Purpose Yards, 2 TDs (1 Receiving, 1 Rushing)

Knights vs. Raiders

This was a chance for the Raiders to show the League they are crossing into that top tier category and they failed miserably. Scott Bard picked them apart for 286 Passing Yards and 4 TDs. He also ran in a TD as well. Sean Aldieri caught 5 balls for 111 Yards and Josh Withee had 141 Yards Receiving of his own and also 2 TDs. On defense Izzy Burgos had 5 flags and an INT and Dan Patterson recorded 3 flag pulls with a sack on the day. There wasn’t much positive from the Raiders this week. Terry Scruse threw for just over 100 yards and a TD and Brett Burnham had 59 rushing Yards also. Brian Holmes also added an interception and a 2 flags on defense.

Player of the Game- Scott Bard- 286 Passing yards, 5 TDs, Rushing TD.

Spartans vs. Steelers

Another game of the week candidate took place with the Spartans vs. Steelers game. A strange game that appeared was in hand for a win for the Spartans turned quickly when Jamie “Rocket” Bryant ran a long TD in for a quick score and the Steelers got the ball back on a questionable run by the Spartans punter when the entire park thought he was kicking. Bryant threw a TD on the next play to close the book on the Spartans. Bryant passed for 84 Yards and 2 TDs and also ran for 119 Yards and a TD on the day. He couldn’t be stopped in any aspect in this one. Anrae Fevier recorded 3 flags and 2 sacks and Izzy Rivera also had 7 flag pulls for the Steelers. The Spartans had a good mentality offensively. They attacked the right places. QB Josh Spence passed for 291 Yards and 3 TDs and top targets Dawud Hanif (10 Catches, 150 Yards, TD) and Kert Hussey (97 Yards, 2 TDs) both had huge days. It wasn’t enough as the Steelers escaped with a 1 point victory.

Player of the Game- Jamie Bryant- 84 Passing Yards, 2 TDs, 119 Rushing Yards, TD

Bulldogs vs. Whalers

In the Bulldogs second game of the day, they dismantled the Whalers in this one. Steve Bartunek passed for 111 Yards and 2 TDs and Calvin Harris had 8 Catches for 84 Yards and a TD. Tyrece Nixon also had 56 Receiving Yards and a TD for the Bulldogs as well. Mike Bartunek recorded 3 flag pulls and a sack on the defensive side. There wasn’t much positive from the Whalers. Pascious Mink was the lone bright spot in this one with 66 rushing yards and a TD. Brandon Degroat had 7 flag pulls on defense. The Whalers have yet to find an identity and have officially fallen to a league worst 0-4.

Player of the Game- Calvin Harris- 84 Receiving Yards, TD

Young Gunz vs. Assassins

The scoreboard on this one shows the Young Gunz won convincingly. The stat sheet didn’t have too many standouts on offense though. Chris Roberts had 107 passing Yards and a TD on the day. Roosevelt Lee had 27 Receiving Yards and a TD. That’s pretty much it for offensive numbers. Defense for the YGZ was definitely a different story. They asserted their dominance early and often vs. the Assassins. Doug Cotto had a huge day with 5 flag pulls and 4 sacks on defense. Chief Peterson also recorded 5 flags of his own, and 2 sacks for the Gunz. The Assasins fought hard in this one, but it just wasn’t enough to beat the 2 time champs. Frankie Camacho had 94 passing yards and a TD. Carlos Amaro also had 73 receiving yards and a TD as well. MMA Kovorshi had 5 flag pulls and a sack.

Player of the Game- Doug Cotto- 5 flag pulls, 4 sacks

Vikings vs. Oilers

This was a win that was long overdue for the Oilers. They have battled some of the league’s best without much to show for it over the past few weeks. They put an end to that Sunday with a win vs. a solid opponent. QB Mark Moore had a good day all around with 67 Passing Yards and a TD and 50 rushing Yards as well. Justin Mceachern had 40 receiving yards for the Oilers also. On defense they had a few standout performers. Allen Barnes had 3 flags and a Sack, Anton Butler had 2 sacks and Kenvin Hendon had 5 flag pulls and 2 sacks also. It’s tough to fully understand the NEFA Vikings. At times, they look like they can compete with anybody. Numerous big wins throughout the years with maybe some of the most talented players in the entire league. This week it looked like the main issue was missing QB Scott Dolch. Nigel Gaynor did perform well though with 165 Passing Yards and a TD. Junior Haslem had 75 receiving yards for the Vikes also. Felix Rodriguez ended up with 2 flags and a sack.
