| If the runner is making a good faith attempt to avoid contact, then he should not be called out, even if contact occurs.
Note: In high school baseball, hurding or jumping over a fielder is illegal and results in an out. (since many of your league's players play on or will play on a high school team, I will attempt to point out rules differences from the two rule sets as the year progresses)
