In the interest of making our football look like football, suppose we make it so that if the offense chooses not to adjust then the defense cannot Adjust if the offense chooses to pivot only, then the defense can only pivot and if the offense does move a backfield player, then the defense can move a maximum of two players.

From looking at the previous post, I see that semi-colons do not come through...sorry for the run on sentence.

I would like to see a little extra pressure placed on the defensive coach to get his team properly aligned to the offensive set within the allotted defensive play clock.

We already have the off the break that forces a defense to be aligned properly pre-snap, but that only applies to running plays. Are you suggesting we do it for passing plays as well.

My mindset I guess was leaning towards making so a defense had to defend the zone cutback more realistically.

We’ve all seen where a running back gets the handoff, immediately plants his foot in the ground, and changes his point of attack. Kind of unrealistic for a defender to be able to come across over the formation to defend...

While scrimmaging the one and only “Slinging G,” we found an additional item that we may want addressed:

When the offensive coach calls “off the break,” then the defense should be afforded the opportunity to remove defensive players from felt. No pivot, just removal from felt.

And to reiterate from earlier, I would like to keep all offensive plays consistent:

- offense has zero post-snap adjustments, then defense gets no post-snap adjustments.
- offense pivots/releases only, then defense pivots only.
- offense adjusts running back, then defense may adjust (with a limit to number of defenders allowed to adjust).
