| Just a few games into the season and I think we will experience a tiny reshuffle this year I think the bigger changes will come along next year and the year after.
Among the public schools, I don't see a team like last year's Reef team in the pool. I think the closest team to that will be.........Miami Springs. They will be the best of the public schools and is my favorite to win GMACs.
In 5A15, I think Lourdes will maintain its dominance, but they aren't quite as strong as they have been historically. I just think everyone else is weaker too. I like Gables to finish second and Beach to finish third in this district. Southwest had a fluky year last season and lost more talent than they gained, but still might have enough to finish 4th.
5A16 will be a much more competitive district than last year. Reef just lost too many graduating seniors but even falling back to the pack as they are bound to do, they are still as good, if not better, than the other teams in their district. It really is a toss-up between Reef, Palmetto and South Dade. South Dade is my dark horse. Ferguson has some young talent, but they aren't quite there just yet. Those are the top 4 again in my opinion, but keep an eye out for Killian, they may surprise.
Do I have to pick a team from 5A14? This would be a straight up guess. Since this district is made up of Dade and Broward teams, I think one of the Broward teams will take it. My guess is Cooper City, with Miramar maybe challenging them a bit
In District 4A16, there's not much to say. I'll stick with Doral and Terra to repeat once again as the other teams are meh.
In District 3A16, Miami Springs looks just as good as usual and being in this district is icing on the cake. No on else can compete with this squad. I will pick Goleman to surpass Mourning this season as the distant second place team.
Aside from 5A16, I think 2A16 is my favorite district. You have Carrolton, Gulliver, Westminster and St Brendan. In other words, a bunch of school teams made up of almost entirely club players. This is a coin flip between Gulliver and Carrolton, with Westminster being capable to overcome if either should falter.
In 2A15, I like Lasalle this year. Ransom to come in second and MAST in third. Would love to see MAST overtake one of the privates though.
In 1A14, I'll stick with Country Day.
In 1A15, I'll stick with Archimidean.
In 1A16, I'll stick with Palmer Trinity.
GMAC TEAMS: Reef, South Dade, Gables, Beach, Springs, Goleman, Terra, and Krop.
Those are my early picks and there are still a lot of games to be played, but there you go. Feel free to comment and question. Not exactly a Top 10, but just one fan's opinion.

Braddock beats Beach

| So far, 3 weeks after these predictions, it looks like I was locked in with most of my GMAC picks. I had Coral Reef, Coral Gables, Miami Springs, Terra and Krop making the cut.
Still on the bubble is Goleman. They will have to win tomorrow against Mourning to prove that their early season victory over Mourning (3-1 on 11/14) was no fluke. The winner of tomorrow's game SHOULD probably earn a berth in the tournament.
As for the last 2 berths, it looks like my South Dade prediction was a bit premature as the Ferguson underclassmen have arrived a year early and have only lost one game this season falling at Reef, with a score of 3-1 on 11/20. The Falcons eeked out a win over Palmetto a couple weeks ago, a 1-0 victory on 11/27, so their next matchup on 12/19 will probably determine who gets the second invite out of district 5A16.
I also seem to have missed the mark with my Miami Beach pick. That 5A15 is a complete wreck with every match being a coin flip (except those where Lourdes is involved) I'm not sure they deserve 2 selections out of that district. Instead, I'll take MAST from 2A15. They seem to be playing well.

| Would have hit on 6 of 8 of my preseason picks for GMACs if it weren't for the district scheduling that kept Krop out of the tournament. Flubbed on my Goleman and South Dade picks.
Underestimated Mourning and completely discounted a scrappy and underrated Ferguson team that has found themselves in the finals after beating 2 teams they haven't beaten in several seasons.
Will it be a 3peat for Reef or will the Falcons fly high on Friday night??
Not gonna lie......I'm rooting for the underdogs to beat their district rivals.
