You are looking for how we think these games are going to go? I'm gonna have to go one at a time for this since I actually have to reason why I think what I do.

L.O. V Adams

I think I have a handle on how the Adams offense V L.O. defense is going to go. In my eyes Adams O is outstanding and will be able score on anyone, with that ssaid I think L.O's D is too good to get moved on consistently. L.O. will get stops and an occasional 3 and out. Adams will score.

The matchup I'm not too sure about is the L.O. offense V the Adams defense. I have a feeling L.O. will be oppotunistic with their offense, so if Adams limits their turnovers they may be in the drivers seat. Unfortunately I dont see either team having a 0 turnover day. L.O. should be able to move the ball in a more ball control grind it out style, but dont be surprised to see a couple big plays.

L.O. 24 Adams 21

Troy V Southfield

This game is basically going to be an offensive back and forth game. I feel Southfield's speed will enable them to make 1 or 2 more "big" plays a quarter that will end up being the difference in this game.

The wildcard in this one could be Troy's defense, they seem to be solid (the L.O. game was an aberration as the offense gave up a lot of those points, as funny as that sounds) and could have a gameplan to shut the Southfield offense down (unlikely) I think we see a Saturday afternoon shootout!! Southfield 35 Troy 28

P.S. I'll be at both this game and the L.O. V Adams game, if anyone wants to enjoy a dip and watch some football let me know.

Clarkston's offense is next to unstoppable, Harrison has struggled at times this year. Harrison's struggles, enable Clarkston to slowly pull away further as the game goes along.

Honestly, I have not seen either of these 2 play this year. Looking at common opponents it would appear Lahser is the better team. They score more and give up less... I may be underestimating this score on both sides

Lahser 35 H.P. 14

To Bad Harrison does'nt have a better QB, if they did they would win this game. They have strong LB, and D-line and O-line. There corners play good against the run but are week on deep routes. Don't throw under the coverage, LB are fast and smart. Runs should be just to keep the D off balance. Reverse's don't work to much speed. That's my take.

Lake Orion's running attack will allow them to possess the ball and keep Adams offense on the sidelines. LO's got enough strength on the D side to force Adams to give up the ball. It's going to come down to the last drive, when LO stops Adams 4 times inside the 10 and its ..............

From the games I've seen this year (live & video) here's my take...

Bloomfield Lahser QB Drew Jackson and healthy RB Tevin Gibson spell big trouble for the Viking defensive unit. Bloomfield Lahser 35 Hazel Park 20

Pontiac Central WR Pierre Quinn hauls in 2 touchdown passes and RB Joshua Cooper adds a 2 point conversion as time expires. Pontiac Central 14 Bloomfield Andover 13

Avondale QB Sean Mather has been hot lately but the Huskies better keep an eye out for RB Francois Mathews in this one. Auburn Hills Avondale 30 Pontiac Northern 19

There's no way (1-6) Pinckney has the guns in this one. Eagle QB Josh Cooper and RB Brandon Pittman combine for 300+ on the ground and it's Ferndale 28 Pinckney 12

North Farmington QB Zack Washington keeps the Raiders in the battle but look for Berkley RB Terrell Porter to near the 200 yard mark and make the difference. Berkley 24 North Farmington 21

Stoney Creek RB Marco Santi comes up big while multi-tasking as a kicker. Rochester Stoney Creek 20 Oak Park 19

Groves RB and OAA leading rusher Kyle Reed adds another 30 carries, 200 yards and 2 TDs to his totals, and the final... Birmingham Groves 35 Royal Oak 16

Farmington is rolling but I wouldn't be surprised to see Athens stay in this one to the end. Look for Falcon RB Neno Jones to make the difference. Farmington 14 Troy Athens 10

It won't make a difference what offense the Maples are in this week... what will make the difference is their defense. Unfortunately, QB Ryan Christensen and the Laker offense doesn't stop coming and clock management is superb. West Bloomfield 27 Birmingham Seaholm 16

Lathrup QB Kris Armstead keeps the Chargers in the game and RB Demarco Donaldson punches it in late in the 4th. Southfield Lathrup 34 Rochester 27

Clarkston's very active defensive line causes numerous problems for Harrison. Clarkston QB Ty Scarlett runs and passes for 150+ yards and multiple scores. Clarkston 37 Farmington Harrison 28

This contest will feature several lead changes until the final minute. Blue Jay QB Eddie Beal hits WR Antoine Robinson from long range and it's
Southfield 26 Troy 21

I imagine if they played all nine weeks against one another, one team would be 5-4 and the other 4-5. I bet we'd even have overtime in there. I like Waszak to lead the Highlanders in this war. Rochester Adams 23 Lake Orion 21

ok, im going to attempt to give a lil summary of the four games that we have been talkin about:

Southfield vs. Troy:
Keith will b a big factor in this game, runnin 200+ yards, 2 touchdowns, he is a good back, troy will put points on the board though with muma sort of being a double threat being able to throw and has shown that he can run the ball too so with that being said: Southfield 28 Troy 10

Adams vs. Lake Orion:
I have seen adams high powered offense scouting them and playing against them, the combination of Waszak Reynolds and Wilson will b too much for LO, now im not saying LO is a good team because they r, they look to b the same team i played against my junior year a couple years ago, a god defensive team only allowing like 49 points this whole season so far, Marques Stevenson will have a good game, but it wont b enough, its gonna b a dog fight so i say: Adams 35 LO 24

Clarkston vs. Harrison:
With Scarlett at the helm harrison doesnt have much of a chance, according to the stats that have been posted so far he has passed for at least 200 yards every game, except for their game agaisnt west bloomfield, and completing 52% of his passes from week one to week five(stats werent posted past that cuz would have gone farther into stats), Raymond Johnson will defiently put points on the board for harrison, he isnt a norman shuford but hes a descent back and i think he'll get in the endzone at least once for harrison so: Clarkston 38 Harrison 21

Lahser vs. Hazel Park
Ok i saw lahser play harrison the first week of the season, they put up a descent fight, i like em in this match up, the combination of Drew Jackson at the helm and Gibson and Taylor will prove to be too much for hazel park, Charles Hill seems to have some descent numbers on the stat charts so he will help HP a lot but wont score, so i say: Lahser 21 HP 6

hope u guys enjoy, i did my scoring kinda off the top of my head but looked to the statistics from games to sort of break down these games, good luck to all of these teams, should b great games all around the league this week

Troy can beat Southfield, if and I do mean if they can stop the big runs on the ground. They also need to be careful when passing they have lotsa speed on D. QB is average at best on passing, but can run very well. LB are good and fast. This is my favorite game of the week.

Absolutely no doubt Troy can beat Southfield, but in my eyes they wont. This is the #1 game on the schedule this year for the Southfield coach to win as he played and coached at Troy. I have a feeling he will find a way to motivate his players. I think Southfield is the more talented team, and its hard to beat good talent when they are motivated and playing well. I still expect a good back and forth game. Wonder if weather will play a factor??

I agree with ya. If there is rain I think it plays into Southfields hands. They are 4 deep with good running backs. Plus there backup QB is a better running QB than there starter and he gets time. Not much with the arm. If they had one of the OAA young QB's we blog about they would be real tough.

Rochester Adams vs Lake Orion

This is a game that features two of the top 10 teams in the state. It is also a clash between the best of the OAA White against the best of the OAA Red. One of the teams will claim bragging rights to the overall OAA Conference Champion (mythical). Now add to this the mightiest offense verses the stingiest defense in the OAA. What we have is the makings of an epic game between to fine teams with great football traditions the Rochester Adams Highlanders and the Lake Orion Dragons. Just like the two mighty boxing champions Ali fighting Frazier, which team will feel the sting of defeat like Joe Frazier with the famous call “ Down goes Frazier ….down goes Frazier” This will be a game of the ages one remembered for a long time in the annals of OAA Football history. This folks is one that must not be missed! I had a hard time prediting the score , as these are two great teams that I respect immensely but alas my score prediction is :

Adams 28 Orion 21
=================================================

Troy vs Southfield

This game features a blazing fast Southfield offense against a good solid Troy defense. Southfield has performed solid all season with the exception of a very close game with Adams. An injury plagued Troy limps into this game and will pay the price.

Southfield 24 Troy 10
==============================================

Clarkston vs Harrison

Clarkston’s high scoring offense faces a Harrison team desperate for a win to get in. This will be very tough match ….hard fought to the end. Harrison has the talent to keep this game close but can they win it? Turnovers may play a critical role in this game.

Clarkston 31 Harrison 21
=================================================

Lahser vs Hazel Park

Lahser came in this forum early on and said they had their eyes on the OAA Blue title. Since that time they have one every big conference game except one, Hazel Park. While Hazel Park has done well this year they will be hard pressed to beat a very good and balanced Lahser team.

Lahser 35 Hazel Park 17

LO/Adams:

It is said, defense wins championships. However, I don't think it will be the defense in this game. Adams is an offensive dynamo. LO is not the same offense that lost by 10 to Rockford. They have grown up through the season. It will be Adams profilic air attack vs LO grind it out running game. LO will present many different defensive looks in this game. They will probably have 5 Dbacks a lot. Adams will need to stop the LO running which they show difficulty with at times. LO nudges this out in OT 27-21.

Sfield/Troy:

Was sfield looking past Groves? Will they keep their focus? Can Troy protect the ball? Turnovers have been troy's achilles heel. 14 turnovers in 7 games. Will Troy stay healthy? QB missed two plus halves of football in three games. The entire second half against LO and WB. RB has missed the entire second half against Clarkston and started the season with a hobbled hammy. The difference maker in this one is the troy kicking game. 30 of 37 kickoffs touchbacks, 7 or 14 punts inside the 20, 8 FGs with 2 over 50yds. Even a missed FG puts opponent on own 20. This can play huge for Troy's defense. Can Sfield continuously move the ball 80 yds? Troy's O line will have to establish the running game to control this game. I like Troy to upset Sfield 28 - 13.

Harrison loses and they're out. Clarkston loses and they face must win against LO. Everything on the line. Harrison comes out like a cornered farret. Clarkston comes out on comcast speed. This is a real horse race down to the end. Harrison fights their way to victory with a late game big play. Harrison 35 - 34.

Lahser has the horses to ride this game into the sunset. Too many weapons for HP. Lahser can give themselves home field through regionals. And they will. Lahser 42 - 14.

Let the games begin!

Scout, FYI you have the troy/sfield game at 12. Time has been moved to 2 for those interested.

In my opinion, if the Lake Orion Dragon goes to Adams and defeats the mighty Highlander then they should be the #2 team in Division 1. I expect Rockford will hold the top spot after they drop Muskegon.

Likewise, Muskegon besting Rockford and Adams stops Lake Orion... viola, just a Division 2 scenario.

Personally, I can't wait until the playoffs... then we will truly know how each conference stacks up.

Yea this game did expose the defense and kick off team. To this point I was not sure because Adams was beaten by anyone yet. Not sure what they can do to shore up the D. Plus side I was surprised how Adams was able to move the ball against a great defense. If Wazak was a bit more accurate they could've put more points on the board. Adams couls move the ball at will on Lk Orion. To me it was the turnovers and defense that hurt us the most...I worry abut r draw in districts as it could be Brother Rice ..1st game in the playoffs. Should be good game against Rochester Falcons.
