I can't put too much stock into 1st games. Although they give me an idea of how well teams were prepared for season start. I have to keep telling myself that this is High School football and is much harder to predict future performance based on past results (unlike college n pro ball). Each game that is played will confirm just how good (or bad) a team is this season. The better teams will find ways to win while the weaker teams will find ways to loose. At this stage Lake Orion, Clarkston,Pontiac, Adams, Harrison, Farmington, Southfield, Berkley, Seaholm, Troy, Troy Athens, and Rochester all have something to prove going into week 2. The good / great teams will have one or more of these traits ....good athletes, good coaching, consistency, depth, good scouting, good game plans, productive offenses, stellar defenses, heart, determination, balance and my favorite good LUCK! Anyway ..... except for one or two ...I don't know who the real good OAA teams are yet ..and that will be determined on the field come every Friday (or Saturday).

Now what say you???

I feel this year the teams we have been use to being the front runners will change. LO has an easy schedule till the last two games of the season. The White division could have a 1st place team with two loses. I just don't buy Seaholm yet. No doubt they play in a weaker division, but they will go 5-4. I don't see Harrison going to Ford Field like everyone thinks. I like Pontiac to go 7-2. Athens 4-5. W Bloomfield 6-3.

I know it is still early in the season but the title puzzle has more pieces in place and.....

Red Division - Lake Orion has emerged as a strong favorite in the red. Troy and Pontiac look like strong contenders perhaps with Clarkston. The game this week between Lake Orion and Pontiac is big.

White Division - the Farmington schools look strong and favorites for the title. Adams and Southfield have to improve to stay in the title run. Oak Park and Oxford still can make a run. The white remains very competitive! The Oak Park and Southfield game and the Farmington and Oxford game are important this week!

Blue Division - Hazel Park, B Seaholm, and Berkley are chasing the title right now. Ferndale has some punch to keep them as a possible contender. The Berkley / Groves game is interesting to me this week!

Nice... Boon calls it like it is man. Clarkston @ Athens and Oak Park/Southfield could be good games.
