| Adams vs Walled Lake Western. Good draw for Adams. If Adams shows up for the playoffs they can win this region! Biggest concern (other than every game) is walled Lake Central. The Highlanders competition / season has prepared them to take on the KLAA North Champs. BUT 1 game at a time LETS GO OAA!!!!! Yea BABYEEEEEEEEEE!!
Now How about your match Ups??

per`Wolves`Den the projections are U guys would meet (again) for District Championship. Thats if Harrison gets by a tough re-surging Rice team and if Farmington makes it past a motivated Berkley squad! A tough district but the winner will emerge a favorite to go to semis!

| Wow Im excited after watching the pairings on fox detroit. My favorite 2 games are harrison against brother rice and farmington against berkley. Harrison and rice will be a close one for sure. Brother rice's coach isnt stupid but harrison again is just as good so well see. Farmington all they have to do is stop the run and if they can do that they can win the game. FHS offense has to step it up and get points on the board it shouldnt be all on there defense which has played well all year. What do you guys think?

>>>>>>>>>>Rochester vs Ike<<<<<<<<<<<<
any thoughts out there on this game? I agree with Chief that the Falcons can win this game! Now do the Falcons believe this? When they played Adams I saw a team that played hard from start to finish....a GOOD FOOTBALL team. Nothing like years past! The Falcons have been tested and prepared for this moment NO GO OUT AND SHOCK EVERYONE.....it won't be a shock to me or Chief!

| I will be honest when i say i don't know much about Eisenhower's team this year. I know they are 8-1, lost to Romeo, and have had osme big offensive games the second half of the season. At the same time, Rochester is going to be hungry for this one, and I know they believe in themselves. Eisenhower has a history of winning, but RHS has their eyes on their goal: to win a playoff game. If they win this game, Rochester will be the greatest team in school history, being the first to ever win a playoff game.

| I will agree this is an interesting matchup. I believe IKE has been flying under the radar all season, and is one of the more talented teams with a surprisingly fast defense. Rochester will have to physically earn every point against them and may struggle to score. I dont exactly expect Eisenhower to score at will, so if Rochester takes care of the ball and plays physical, they will have a shot to win this one. Hearts with Rochester, gut says close Ike victory.

| Rochester certainly has a shot against Ike. I would compare Ike to Clarkston in that their strength is their defense, which allows them to get by with an average offense. And, as we all know, Rochester played Clarkston very close. Still, I think I'll have to go with the experience factor here and choose the team that has been battle tested in the playoffs before. Ike 14 Rochester 10.

| unfortunately I think this may be the week that someone is more physical than FHH. FHH is not very big but nobody has pushed them around this season, Rice however is physical in the front seven and in the defensive backfield as well as their big OL. My fear is they pound the ball inside all day and wear down the hawks and keep the ball away from their quick strike offense.
I hope FHH's speed all over the field is too much for Rice, but when you've played a schedule like the warriors have, you've probably seen everything.

| Whoa! A reality check here. You could have a very valid point here. BBR is probably bigger and deeper at most positions ...are they more physical I dunno? I thought Adams, Lake Orion and Farmington were tough physical challenges for Harrison. The Hawks handled these teams. Over the years Adams has always run into big, tough , physical, deep BBR team...the games are typically close .... inspite of their physical/size advantage. BBR is a ball possession team that will run until you force them to go to the air. If Harrison brings a good defense and play Hawk Ball on offense they will win. My big concern is if BBR shuts down the Hawks passing game BUT to date NO ONE HAS!!
GO HAWKS!!!

| In the Bracketmaker predictions, I picked LO to go to the state finals and then lose to Catholic Central. IMO, the D1 bracket is a killer to predict this year. I'm fairly sure CC and Canton are heads and shoulders above everyone else alas, they will meet in the quarterfinals. I think out of all the east side teams, LO is pretty much the only one who isn't down this year, so I took them to the finals for that reason. I did have Cass Tech beating Dakota in the quarters which I think would qualify as a fairly big upset if it happens.

| Even though Lake Orion lost to FHH I don't think that diminishes how good the Dragons are! Particularly if Harrison beats BBR. As a matter of fact the loss strengthens the Dragon resume. They played and lost to one of the best if not the best D2 teams in the state. Your QB had a bad night ... it happens! If the Dragons QB is on they can beat anyone.
ps LK Orion held Harrison to their lowest score this year!

| I won't abandon Farmington .... because of their strong defense! Berkley has had their way in a loose, fast, high scoring OAA Blue division. No way will Farmington allow them to put up the points they did in the Blue. The Falcon's defense will keep Berkley's in check just enough for a Falcons win. If anyone pulls away in this game it will be FHS!

I hope you are right on your last one. I am really surprised at how many people are picking the Hawks, here other sites and in the papers....it's probably 75%. I ve seen them both and to me it's a toss up with the edge going to Rice in special teams and having played close games already and come through on the winning end.

| Good Discussion and Takes from everyone!!!
Hazel Park@ Auburn Hills Avondale Farmington@ Berkley Lake Orion@ Davison Clarkston@ Grand Blanc ... (Upset Alert!!!) Rochester Adams@ Walled Lk West (Watch Out Adams) Utica Eisenhower@ Rochester (Upset Alert!!!) Farmington Harrison@ Birmingham Brother Rice
The strength of our conference will be judged based on Friday's performances. If all our favorites win all is GOOD. If we get a Rochester win as well ....that would be FANTASTIC! While all our playoff games are big ...the Harrison game is HUGE! A win over a very good, very hot Rice team is just so important in setting the tone for the playoffs. Just a day away I am fired up!!!! Best O Luck to all OAA Playoff Teams!

| Plato, I share your concerns and more than likely this game will be close and go either way! I pick the Hawks because I have seen this wrecking crew in action. I know very little about Brother Rice except for what I hear on the blogs. Past experience has taught me they are always tough and prepared for the playoffs! Adams has typically played them tough and kept the games close over the years...so that should encourage the Hawks. This game will probably be close and the Hawks will have to handle the pressure. If they do I think they win!

| Plato, Boon, et al - admittedly I'm a Hawk fan, but I don't think I'm too far off on this one. I have the utmost respect for the BR program. Whether they are having an up or down year, they are always a threat to beat any team. I just believe this is a special year fo the Hawks (players, leadership, timing, team unity) and the sense that the kids feel it as well. If nothing else, call it a gut feeling.

| Vince,
No doubt this is a special year for the Hawks! I am admittedly being careful and conservative on predicting this game! You just don't know how good this BBR team is? Every time I think it is down year for the CHSL they prove me wrong.
There is no doubt that that this Rice team has come back strong this season! How strong was their schedule....well many out there will say it was a difficult competitive schedule! Are Orchard Lk St Mary, DeLasalle, and Catholic Central elite teams this year..... I dunno??? A big Harrison win will answer these questions! I hope Harrison wins big but as I've said these games tend to be nail biters and very close! Can't wait to find out just how good this Harrison team is??

| I hear what you're both saying and I agree. However, one of the factors that I think may play to the Hawks favor is the schedule Rice had this year. While undoubtedly difficult, along with that comes the mental & physical strain of having to "get up" for each game, particullarly week after week due to the way their season started. Couple that with a short week for BBR (las game ended late Sat night against a tough opponent) and I think/hope that plays to our favor. We should know in about 6 hours...

| Adams plays a sloppy game! Showed some great moments though..particularly thru the air. Totally uncharacteristic for a run oriented Adams offense ...they debut an incredible arial attack! This game was completely dominated by Adams and the score could have been much higher except for Adams miscues. They will have to have it all together to beat a solid Walled Lk Central team. The Highlanders can win this district though!

| Yeah. Farmington looked good all year until they went against contenders. I know that they gave a 100 percent out there and shouldnt feel down about the year that they had but Im a little upset about it as well. Here's why..Farmington had seniors that played since they were sophomores. To lose in the first round in 3 years and not move further is so confusing to me. It really starts with the coaching and to be honest its bad. What are the coaches doing over there that they cant get past the first round?? oh well... Great year for fhs and congrats to the hawks! Go OAA
