I know it's still early but assume most teams have been participating in some form of workouts, some 7x7 passing leagues as well as 7x7 tournaments around the area. The forum seems kind of quiet but wondering how anyone is feeling about their teams?

I'm an FHH fan and excited about the upcoming season. We've have some good players returning and we're fortunate with the experience they'll bring. It appears they'll have a deeper backfield this year (RB wise) and that should help alleviate some of the pressure from the passing game. QB has some big shoes to fill but is a good athlete and should be ok. Defense should be solid again this year. I think some folks overlooked FHH last year as they hadn't had a dominant season in some time - don't think we'll be as fortunate this year.

I would expect Adams and Southfield (OAA White)to return solid teams again this year. I'll be interested to see how Farmington does as they graduated some key personnel from last year.

How about any other teams or divisions?

Clarkston should be very good this year. Most everyone coming back from a 7-3 team last year. Defensse should be one of the best around and they running back was all oaa red last year. Hopefully, the starting QB can stay healthy. They should have the pieces to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Vince, QB should be interesting spot this year for the Hawks. The new QB should add some different options, and hopefully the added running game will take a little pressure off in the early going. LB is going to be important as well after losing two seniors.

You're right Plato, on both. The QB should add some different dimensions to the offense this year, which could make things interesting.

As for the LB's, hard to replace a couple of guys that had started the last two years. A few of the leading candidates are young (soph/junior) but good size and decent speed and seem to have that LB mentality, which is necessary for that position. Hopefully they'll pick things up quickly as the first two games will test FHH regardless of their experience.

Coach Slobin and his crew have really done a tremendous job working with the team in the off season on strength and conditioning, so they should be ready for game time.

Seaholm should be decent. They should be 4-0 when they play Avondale. How is Groves looking?

Wow some good stuff here already...

Hope to see more fanatics jump in and talk about their teams.

After all WE are 1 of the strongest conferences in the STATE!

No reason why we cant be in the mix for a couple state titles this year !!!!!!

Well Boon,

Lets hear about Adams then. Strengths, key returners, expectations? I have a feeling with LO and FHH winning titles people may have forgotten how good Adams usually is.

Good to see u back for another season! Can't say much about Adams right now...as I am not and "insider" sort a speak! I just follow the program as that is where my kids went! When the season starts I will have more to say about Adams and other OAA teams. Nice start to the season for Adams with a pre season fave in the Clarkston Wolves. I expect another great season of football for the OAA ..an elite conference in the state (no doubt)!

I think clarkston should do fairly well this year. Offense should be stronger than last year anyway with Goss carrying the rock again. Hopefully the wolves can figure out there quarterback situation unlike last year where it seemed like to me just about every game there was a different kid slingin'. but loss of deep threat chris canada will be the only down side to this offense . on the other side of the ball. you got probably the best linebacking core in the county in zach collins and matt dellinger and youngster calvano who will fill in for baetz. only thing that concerns me here is the defensive backs. Loss of two 2 year starters ty foltz and chris canada will be a big blow. But Clarkston will be Clarkston.

Across town, i think Lake Orion will be tough too. They obviously lost a lot on offense losing stevenson, zott, ney, mcgee etc. But dont count out 4 year starter sean charette. You know he will get his numbers. not to mention there jv team did go 9-0. plus chris bell is one of the best coachs in the state he will have this team ready to go this fall.

i believe it will be between clarkston and lake orion here for the league title. and right now i might give the edge to clarkston just based on the fact of a lot of there players are coming back.

Good luck to all the teams this year !

Farmington will be interesting and it could go either way. There running game will be the strengh of there team with Conner Mohr, and they have some young players that could be a big surprise like 3 years ago. I would say they go 6-3 but that could change based on how quick the the under class catch's on.

Who else does Farmington have that they are counting on? Didn't the Mohr kid end up injured at the end of the year? The QB position should be much improved..what about their other RB's besides Mohr?

I think Farmington may surprise some teams this year. Any of you aware of the transfer? The kid is a stud! They will have great team speed and are fairly big up front. They will be young, which is not a bad thing.

Farmington transfer from where? What position? Their RB from last year (Connor ?) is a great athlete so I'm sure he'll do well. To be honest, they should have started their back-up QB in front of Craven last year, as the kid seemed to have more confidence and was just overall better IMO. It will be interesting to see how they develop. I know the Harrison coach has this game circled on the calendar...

They are loaded with Junior talent. The transfer is from Nevada. Big time player according to the News in Nevada about him. Craven did not have agreat season last year. He is better than he played. Morgan looked good at practice yesterday. I stopped in for about an hour. They have big time skill players. better than I expected to be honest, including Sophomore Craven, the little brother. They have a junior wide receiver that looked fantastic as well. I will chop this name, but DeGrafenreid is a returning tailback along with the kid that came from Southfield High last year. They both hit the holes hard. They have a young line that will give a lot of opponents trouble, they are big and have great footwork.

Just read an article on Southfield and they sound like they may be real good this year. A couple of transfers, including BCS recruit thompson, and 17 starters back. OAA white is going to be very good this year.
