| A good froend of mine who lives in Clarkston and his kids attend high school there informed me today that Clarkston had an academically ineligible player play in their last 2 games. Apparently the district and the MHSAA became aware and now Clarkston has to forfeit both games (both were wins).
Wondering if anyone else is aware of this?

| First I've heard, and if in fact it is true, this is going to make things very interesting for the playoff race, not only for them, but for Athens as well.

| Looking into it... if it's true Troy, LO and Athens are in the drivers seat :)

| I still think Troy finishes 5-4 at best... so that could be tough for them, but if it is true HUGE for Athens.

| A lot of games still to be played, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Clarkston vs Oxford crossover matchup...

| Via Oakland Press...
Clarkston played with an academically ineligible player in its first two games of the year. When the discovery was made this weekend, longtime Clarkston athletic director Dan Fife self-reported the incident to the MHSAA and agreed to remove wins over Rochester Adams and West Bloomfield from the school’s 2011 record.

| just my opinion but Troy Athens is still Troy Athens and that means no playoffs for them. They get bounced by Troy in week 9. Go out and prove me wrong Red Hawks

| I give credit to Mr Fife for coming forward with this information. Clarkston will still make the playoffs.

| First two games, not last two... WIll not affect Athens record then... I agree, Clarkston will still make the playoffs. Will shuffle the crossover games though.
And yes, Athens is still Athens, whatever that means

| Clarkston is still Clarkston, Troy is still Troy, Athens is still Athens etc... One loss in the OAA will not hurt them, they could in my mind still play Harrsion in the Crossover... Yes that would mean Lake Orion lost. How does the OAA decide who's gonna play Harrison seeing as both teams would be one loss teams? I dont know, it's something they'll have to see. Clarkston might have lost their #1 or #2 seed in playoffs though with 2 or potentially 3 losses.

| Tie breaker, if I'm not mistaken, is of course head to head and then point differential. That would hurt Ctown since they lost 2 games 1-0.

| The team that may have benefitted the most is West Bloomfield. They will probably Loss to Lake Orion, and if they can beat either Troy or Rochester, the rest are toss ups, so you never know..

| for Oaafootball.....you mean how do they determine who plays the winner of the white. You can't concede it to FHH

| Class act by the Wovles AD. I felt after reading the Oak Press that the "so called violation" should not have resulted in forfeits. Clarkston will make it to the playoffs anyway ... and should do very well!

| Plato mentions the cross-over match-up based on "who wins the white" and can't concede it to Harrison...the only other possible leader in the White would be Adams and I don't see them beating FHH.
Seeing as it's the 8th game of the season and there are still conference games to play in week 9, the match-ups are based on team records through Week 7 - correct? I'm assuming it's conference record, followed by head/head followed by overall record.
Looking for confirmation or guidance...

| Vince, at the time of my post they hadn't played Oxford and they still have Adams and a dangerous oak park team. Not saying they will not be obvious favorites in those contests but I've seen very good FHH teams lose to teams they were suposed to beat...it happens. look at LO first week, they probably overlooked Oxford. You can't concede anything

| Plato - I agree with your assessment - anything can happen, that's why they play the games! But to my question on cross-over match-ups, it's 1st vs 1st, 2nd vs 2nd, etc - in the event of matching records within the same division, how do they determine position?

| Vince, after head to head they go to point differential.
