I believe Lake Orion would lose 4 games in the White and Clarkston would lose 3. Harrison, Oxford (proven)Southfield, Farmington. Clarkston, Harrison, Southfield and Farmington. The White Division, might have a team not make the playoffs that would have won the Red. Just the way I see it.

Couldn't disagree with you more, but I understand how you come up with that thought. There's absolutely no way a team in the White doesn't make the playoffs "could have" won the Red. I agree the White as a whole is stronger and deeper, but there are still 4 good teams in the Red that can beat the teams you mention outside of Harrison any given day.

Stich,

I see 2 in the red that would be competive in the white not 4. I would take Harrison, Southfield, Oxford, Adams, Farmington and Oak Park against anything in the red.

Now I grant this is pure speculation but it is based on some facts. For example Oxford a 3rd place team in the white destroyed Lake Orion(1st in the red). Harrison likewise will beat ur #1 seed in the x over. Our remaining teams should do very well against the red in x over games. Stich u pick the match up and lets talk about it .... all in FUN ofcourse!

There are only two solid teams in the RED. Clarkston and Lake Orion. From what I have seen so far the QB position is the issue with WB, Athens and Troy. The run real well, but can not put the ball in the air.

I have yet to see Pontiac, Royal Oak and Rochester. We know LO QB is a good player.

Also, Farmington has not won a meaningful game since 2002, so until they beat someone, they can not be put in with the elite teams. Beating Oxford by 1 point does not make them elite. They lost to Adams and will lose to Southfield, Oak Park and Harrison and miss the playoffs.

Alright, let's have some fun!

I see 1 Red crossover victory, and that's Clarkston over whoever is #2 in the White. I hope its not Adams only because I'd like to see a different matchup than one we've already seen. I also think Troy & Athens give whoever they matchup with a good game, and both of those can go either way. I lean towards White.

I think no one beats Harrison, Red or White.

Here's my 4, Lake Orion, Clarkston, Troy and Athens. I believe these 4 can matchup and beat anyone in the White on any given day (excluding Harrison). I'm not saying for sure, I'm not saying consistently, but a Troy over Southfield, Athens over Oxford type result wouldn't surprise me.

I'm not saying Troy or Athens would finish 2nd in the White behind Harrison, I'm saying be competitive and win a couple conference games.

My main point in the post above is that a 4th/5th/6th place White team like Oak Park/Oxford/Farmington would not win the Red, not that the Red will do well in the crossovers. This goes back to my point about the White being stronger and deeper than the Red as a whole.

I think Troy and Troy Athens can beat some White teams

Farmington has not won a meaningful game since 02? 2010 Beating Adams at there place, not meaningful? Harrison in 08 and 09? Oxford this year at there place? Farmington has a young team and they could surprise people. They lost 7 starters that started for 3 years on both sides of the ball and playing good ball this year with few seniors. MMMM

I guess when Farmington has not won a playoff game since 2002, then those would be meaningful games for Farmington. I apologize.

The bottom line is this team is on the rise. They are starting to bring in quality talent. They are a well coached team. This success with a young, inexperienced team proves it.

As far as which division has more talent, I think it swings yearly, but I would give the advantage to the white this year.

And Farmignton will beat Oak Park this week. Although I do not think it will be an easy game for either team.

I agree farmington is a team on the rise. Last year's team was a good team that disappointed in the playoffs (1st rnd loss)....but hey this is high school ball!

The Falcons are improving and maybe by seasons end they will surprise! Oak Park has a big line and speedy backs ....they will present a challenge to anyone they play..Farmington will have their hands full....but thats the way it is in the White this year (no easy games)!

Stich...

Back to what u had last posted. I not sure about Troy and Troy Athens. The Colts were decent last yr and Athens was below average. This yr is different I think Troy is not as good as last season and Athens has picked up their game. Im very curous at how they will do in their x over games. If they win your point will be made .. but if both teams loose ... as I sence they will ... then this will re-inforce the fact that the White Divisions is stronger, deeper, and has more talent than the Red this season. Time will tell and it makes for good discussion.

I agree with you. The White compared to the Red is like the SEC compared to the Big 10. The White has better skilled players, and speed.

I'm not going to disagree with what you say. If you read what I said above I also think Troy & Athens give whoever they matchup with a good game, and both of those can go either way. I lean towards White." I pretty much think the same end results as you do. Then in my first post "I agree the White as a whole is stronger and deeper" I just think most write off Troy and Athens, when in fact they are still solid football teams this season.

Clarkston would beat any team in the White with the exception of Harrison. They beat Adams much worse than the score indicated and absoultely dominated both the Troys. They haven't really had a close game yet. The only other White team that could be a tough match-up would be Southfield. I agree overall the white is deeper but Clarkston would finish with 1 loss in the white. (forfeits not included)

Well we should find out when we have the crossover games. Since they won't play Harrison. I thinks again they would lose 3 games.

Brokenwalls, u really think Clarkston would lose 3 games in the white??? Are u crazy? They would lose no more than 2 games. Could even beat Harrson. I agree though that white is stronger than the red.

Clarkston is a good team ... they did handle Adams. Im sure they dominated the stats but...they only beat Adams by a touch down ...actually let them back into the game. That should not happen. Adams I believe had 1 starter reuturning on offense and 3 returning on D. Clarkston should have blown them out with the team they had returning. They will probably see Southfield or Adams in the x over game but Oxford or Farmington may be there as well. I waiting to see how Clarkston does in the x over and against Lk Orion before I say just how good this team is.

1) I'd have to agree with Spartyfan.

2) Boon, Being at both the Clarkston/Adams and Clarkston/Troy games, I think its fair to say Troy and Adams would be a fairly even matchup. Again I'd give a slight edge to Adams (The White)

3) OAAScouts, I'll take Harrison in a similar fashion to last seasons game.

4) Brokenwalls, not a chance, not even a slim one.

Hey I would like to see that matchup between Adams and Troy....And it could happen. I think its very possible that they could be 3rd or 4th seed in the x over. Then again if Adams gets by Southfield and Oxford they would probably rematch aqainst Clarkston!

I read somewhere that the crossovers will avoid repeats of week one.
Re red/white. Harrison is clearly the best team in all the divisions. Clarkston and LO could give them good games but unlikely to beat them. Lake Orion's loss to Oxford has everybody writing them off. The last time LO played that badly they went on a 5 game winning streak and won a state title. They have dominated every team since Oxford and we probably won't know how good they are until the Harrison and Clarkston games.
Harrison and Adams are kept in the White to break up the big four so the white will always be competitive. The red may only win one crossover (Clarkston) but I think Harrison is the only white team that could win the red.We shall see.

That's because the quality of the teams they have played since that game has been poor. I'm sorry, but the White is that much better this year. Clarkston and Lake Orion are overrated. The playoffs and the crossover will expose these teams.

Did the playoffs expose LO last year? With their state championship rings? Farmington lost to Berkley (talk about getting exposed in the playoffs). Coach Herrington finally figured out how to get around that closed enrollment thing.. good for both of them.

This conversation has nothing to do with last year. LO had a great team last year, nobody is discounting that. Berkley was an underrated team last year. In fact, Berkley played Harrison almost even last year with two plays being the difference, a kick return for a TD by Harrison and a TD run called back against Berkley in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The Red might of been the better division last year, but again this conversation is about this year.

A lot of good points ^^^^^^^. Yes, Berkley was better than anyone thought last year and they r from the blue ... just goes to show there can be tough teams from each of our divisions! I agree that Clarkston is good and Lk Orion is improved from season start. Personally I would not want to face either of those teams! I went and saw Oxford shred Stoney last night ...now I appreciate what Lk Orion ran into. Anyway I can't wait for the x over games so we all can talk Smack ..HA!

Oaawhatever,
Herrington didn't have to figure out much about closed enrollment, considering he won 5 state titles in the 80's and 90's prior to them having open enrollment...so it wasn't as much of an adjustment as you think. Good coaches tend to do that
