| So now with only 1 OAA team left standing, Lake Orion, I assume will feel a little more at home in Troy even though Cass won there last year on there eventual State Championship run.
Let's pick the winner shall we?
Keys to the game for Lake Orion:
1) Control the ball- If lake orion is forced into 3,4,5 play drives, that turns the ball over the the electric receivers and explosive passing attack that Cass Tech brings.
2) Dominate the Trenches- Cass Tech's line is very big and strong, nothing Lake Orion hasn't seen however. But with one sliver of daylight, Cass can turn a 0 yard gain into a 55 yard Touchdown
3) Finally, Play Within Themselves- Don't try to do too much! This has never been a problem for Lake Orion, but things change in the Semi Finals.
Keys for Cass:
1)Jayru Campbell- Enough said, in order for the Technicians to come up big, this young Sophomore needs to come up big too.
2)Linebacker core- Will they get caught up in all the motion and misdirection of the Lake Orion offense? If they do, look for a long day for Cass.
3) Use their speed- A lot of deep routes, a lot of jet sweeps etc. Get their playmakers the ball in space and they should be okay.
Overall Analyses: 2 Years ago Lake Orion won the state championship by knocking out Cass Tech in the same place they will meet this year. Cass has that in the back of their minds and are ready to play... Just like Rockford and Clarkston, this will be a highlighted game in MHSAA Football history. The last 2 Division 1 state champs meet for a spot at Ford Field.
