Clarkston (on film) is huge in the trenches and seems like their QB is starting to come into his own given the injury to their RB. Stoney is very, very well coached (ask Lake Orion). Very good skill players, their QB is playing outstanding with a very tough and athletic defense. Should be a fun one!

Stoney's Seniors went 9-0 as Freshman, 8-1 on JV then they had a surprising season last year. Moving to the Red, under a new Head Coach and having a winning season was a big deal. I thought they would go 6-3 this year when it started, now I'm leaning to 7-2.

I think they lose to Clarkston and they lose the crossover. They will be playing Adams, Harrison, Oak Park or Southfield in the crossover. That's a loss. The bottom of the Red is just so down this year, I can't see a loss to Athens, Rochester, or WB happening.

Then I think they are an early out in the playoffs. Match-ups matter and they won't be an easy district. Either they're pushed to play MAC opponents (Chip. Valley, Dakota), or they stay in a OAA district with Clarkston, Adams, and LO.

Clarkston will be a tough one. For the crossover, when Stoney was in the White and as frosh and JV they:
- beat OP both times
- shellacked Adams both times
- only loss to Harrison whey they brought down juniors
- Southfield was a very tough test

Don't know any MAC teams that can compete in the OAA Red in the playoffs. Eisenhower would get beat by Troy.

I think Stoney Creek can beat Clarkston. They could meet Lake Orion in the playoffs. It will be a much closer game. Stoney Creek should beat Troy Athens, West Bloomfield and Rochester easily. Crossover would be a great game.

cougarnation,

who brought down juniors in the JV game you are talking about? It certainly wasn't Harrison if that's what you meant. If you did that's really reaching for an excuse

Everyone likes to talk offense, but I was at this game and the defense was amazing three sacks and two picks and they shut their offense down. THIS IS A VERY GOOD TEAM.

I'm not totally sure what Cougarnation is talking about, I used to follow SC very close. You are correct that they had success against Adams and OP. Although, this is a different Oak Park opponent now. The Harrison thing sounds like BS, although when the seniors were freshman, they traveled to Harrison and won.

As for the MAC opponents I mentioned, I think those are tough teams. Dakota especially would give any OAA Red team fits (and they usually do in the playoffs).

Again, it's a 7-2 team that (hopefully) can win their first playoff game in school history.

Well Dude apparently you didn't follow SC that closely. My "point" was not to dissect why they lost a JV game two years ago, it was to suggest that they have a better shot at the crossover based on past success (which you brought up) than was mentioned.

Bigger point is that Clarkston played a great game and beat SC in every facet - wow that team is well coached despite MiPrepzone parent bashers.

We do share one objective - for SC to have a good season and hopefully a playoff win.

Peace!
