After watching The Rams facing off against the Salem Lions you kinda go in expecting a dominant performance and you kinda forget that The Rams lost so much more form last years team than Laswell...against Salem the team looked pretty strong the only thing they struggled with was passing the ball and you could expwect that would be the last thing to come around seeing as how the QB position is fresh to Varsity Football....I think Wilson looked pretty good managing the offense and you seen some flashed of good things ahead I was surprised at the speed of Kameda around the edge it mixes well Ithink down the line with Wilson and Shepard...Shepard showed more quickness through the line this season had more Adrian Peterson type runs than I thought there would be...Strange when he gets his shot next year in a few years or whenever he becomes fulltime will help the offense with the speed he has...defense looked solid although got pushed around some early on came back to shut Salem down...should be an interesting season to watch I just hope that the team doesn't get into the situation that the Nebraska teams of the 1990s and ealry 2000s did and that the teams to beat them would stop the run and force them to pass and the QB's they had weren't the best or more accurate passers out there and it they would end up one dimensional and look real bad...should be a fun season

The passing game is obvious and will be exploited, but I have a feeling Coach B knows that. Probably first and foremost on his mind would be the amount of penalties and penalized yards his team racked up.
The early score of Salem. though disappointing, was due to a long kick off return. The defense seems to bend but is hard to break and the Rams superior state of players physical condition really showed in the second half.
Last year we beat them by 23 and this year we beat them by 25, and both years had shaky scrimmages at best the week before. Now to compare both Salem and Paoli to last year is apples and orange comparisons and not really a good one on my part, but it does show that what we have in store for us may not be obvious yet.
Like last year, I think going in I personally am worried more about West Washington and Corydon, but it will be fun to see how the kids develop throughout the season...

I think a team like West Washington will give the Rams problems just on the fact that they are a pass first team and I think if The Rams run into a team that is pass first or more of a Spread team they will be a tougher matchup...theres a few games that will be interesting down the line that I will be intersted to see in and how the gameplan is goin into those games....

Talked to one of the players over the weekend and he said that Salem was visibly tired after the first quarter. The kids have taken pride in their conditioning it appears and no matter how tough it is and how grueling the workouts are, the kids enjoy the payoff and it is making a difference on Friday nights.

Don't worry about the passing game, it will be there when they need it. If you consider the dropped pass and the catch on the extra point that was denied because of penalty, we would have been 4 of 5 in terms of the QB and the receivers doing their jobs. Not bad for a first outing. I think the offense will really start to come together in the next few games. It is nice to see a number of players becoming weapons in the offense. It is sure going to make it tough on defensive coordinators to try to shut them down.

I like how the numbers are up to 58 players this season when I believe Balsmeyer's first year there were barely 30 players on the roster...everything will mesh together as the season goes along....I know I like the height of the 6'3" Freshmen as a Reciever being that tall as a Freshmen...anyone know anything b\about that kid?.....anyway The Rams have started to build a program in which all other successful area teams do and that is Graduate a Good Class one year and the following year bring in a Good Freshmen Class to replace them....just hope we don't hit mid-season and the part of the season last year where it semeed like it rained every friday night...

the 6'3 Freshman and his Sophomore brother are transfers from Salem. His brother can only play JV ball for the whole year because Salem would not release him. Since the Freshman was in Jr High last year, he can play Varstiy immediately. They are also both good basketball players and just good athletes overall.
