You would think that a 32-0 victory over Mitchell would be a very satisfying thing, considering this is the same group of kids that played each other in the six grade on that same field. In that contest, the Mitchell squad ran up the score on the gold team and tried to score again with their first string with less than 30 seconds to go. A lot of parents remember that, and probably felt no remorse for our JV squad trying to score at the end of last nights game... me included.

Maybe we became a little spoiled last year with near perfect games and higher scores, but scoring aside, we just made too many mistakes to put in the category of "great team." Now with that said, these kids will improve and by the time we face some of the tougher teams, Coach B will have the kids ready.

I think we can all feel a little better about our passing game after last night, as we showed that we can gain yards and score with the pass.

Also, we could be seeing the emergence of Channing Kameda who took a whole scoring drive, put in on his shoulders, and carried it into the endzone on the heels of several great plays that he was directly involved in. Kameda is a man, and I hope we get to see much more out of #28 as the weeks progress.

So, if we can cut down on the penalties, we should have a lot to cheer about in the coming weeks.

I kinda like the way the offense has looked the first few games I don't refer to it as a Wing-T...nor do I call it the Oklahoma/Barry Switzer/Billy Sims "Boomer Sooner" Wishbone...I like to refer to it as the "Nebraska Wishbone" because the way The Rams have ran it so far this season makes it look like the same way those 90s to early 2000s Nebraska teams would run it...anyway the passing game will be shaky all season Wilson threw the ball good against Mitchell but there were times when he rolled out that there was pressure in his face and he would get tackled for a loss...I think down the line they will have to if they plan on goin to state open up the passing game some more in different formations...just don't wanna see another Monrovia game again...I look at the depth at QB next year will be interesting to see who goes where...The Rams should be ok if it rains it could be another situation though...Kameda could be one of those Reggie Bush slash guys for the Rams he may split out wide one time he maybe wingback one time he may be in motion one time which helps out The Rams...The JV Rams ran hard even though the didn't score in the last few minutes in the game that they were in...

Shizz,

We run the flexbone offense that Navy and Georgia Tech run. Paul Johnson gets credit for it's resurrection. It is tough to defend.

Having said that, I cannot understand your statements regarding the passing game. Wilson was 10 for 12, 208 yards, 2 Tds, 0 Ints. His passer rating using the NFL rating system was a perfect 158.3 The receivers and the line did a great job. The line was outweighed by 50 to 80 pounds per man, and Zack Weddell had to step in at the last minute to play center. All in all they did well. Mitchell was not as weak as in years past, they will win some games.

In this thread, and others, you seem anxious to see Wilson replaced at Q as soon as possible. After his performance this weekend, I cannot see where you are coming from. We knew he could run the ball, now we see he can pass as well. Your continued persistence in this is rapidly deteriorating your credibility and increasingly making it look like you have an agenda. Keep in mind the players themselves frequently look at this site. They have a tremendous load on them as it is to carry on the winning tradition of the last few years. They don't need to see anything but encouragement from a public forum such as this.

Ram Fan,
I cant agree more, the penalties have got to go. we are going to start seeing some very good teams soon. WW, Corydon, Perry...these guys will convert mistakes into points very quickly. The Coaches will continue to work with the boys to get them better.

I was very excited to see Kameda, Axsom, Phelps and Jones all in the end zone. these boys appearance only makes Wilson's job easier. Wilson is coming around, taking over for Laswell is not an easy thing to do. in 2 games I feel he has done very well.

The defense looked a little off at the start but quickly came alive and kept the Jackets at bay.

Weddle did a good job taking over for Sanders. #64 we wish you well and a speedy recovery.

GO RAMS, BEAT THE HAWKS!

You are spot on.

Last year in the first two or three games, we had a fair number of penalties also. The coaches will get that and the turnovers corrected soon.

Hopefully, Garrett Sanders will make a fast recovery. He did a nice job in the Salem game. He deserves a break.

I would just like to say that I have no problem with Wilson as the QB...I think he's one of the faster Quarterbacks in recent years...I will say this though I seen him roll out numerous times against Mitchell and complete passes some went for Touchdowns some went for good yardage which I think is pretty good...compare that to when The Rams had that 0-30 streak goin and they had a QB who would roll out and hit the coaches on the sideline for a completion tryin to find a reciever on the same routes that Wilson made for completions....Wilson's a good option Quarterback who will get better as the season goes along...
