Author TOPIC: Question for fans?

This is for the fan who follows Paoli football, not just varsity. How can the coaching staff take a kid who is undefeated in his entire career as a starting QB and decide it best to move him to wide receiver? Now lets discuss this a bit. Not only is this kid undefeated but he is in my opinion 1 of the most dynamic runners from the QB position I have ever seen come through PHS. He has proven his ability at every level he has competed in. So, lets move him to receiver where in our system he MAY touch the ball twice a game??? I always thought it was smart coaching to get the ball in your best playmakers hands. I do know he does not have the best arm on the team but we don't throw the ball much so that is not important. Is this a case of politics? We do have a transfer that plays QB and has a relative on staff. I hope this is not the case and I am not saying that it is, just asking. Maybe and hopefully the plan is to use him at receiver next year then move him to slot after #2 and #4 graduate. That would make sense if your not going to play him at QB. Discuss...

Why should you be surprised. Coach B should be grooming this kid to be the player that he is. Why would you change someone this later when he has been playing this position since he started playing football. That arm can be strengthened. The qb directs the team on the field. He not only has to pass but calls the plays and makes sure we move the ball down the field. Coach B is falling back on his Jasper days where he was an assistant coach and they never threw the ball.

The parts that really confused me about the whole thing was this. The kid that got the most reps at QB for the jv team was not even eligible to play varsity. I may be missing something but that makes 0 to no sense to me. When I played, the jv QB was the back-up for varsity.

What does that tell a kid who has worked hard all this time, and not be able to play the position that he has pursued. It doesn't make sense, but I'm not the coach. I'd be thinking really hard what my value to this team really is, when the time comes for me to step up and not given the chance. I'm sure there is a reason, and it better be a good one, but try telling this to the player.

I don't know what exact player you are talking about or I would go more in detail about that subject...

But anyway I was watching some College Football Games over the weekend and watched Florida use a kid named Trey Burton at Fullback...at Quarterback...at Tight End...at Reciever...and he's "supposed" to be the next QB in line and he got to touch the ball at every position he played...

The problem with the offense The Rams use (other than it's not ran like Brownstown's Wing-T) is that it's to vanilla for me also it's like a Pee Wee Version of the Wing-T The Veer/Wing-T offense..it's an offense that the Coordinator ran in high school and college it's an offense that some other school had success with and that's the offense they know best and to hell with anything else anyone wants to use...so with success The Rams have had this year it's kinda hard to argue the point of it not workin or you should pass more because against most of the teams it works well...like against Lawrenceburg well Wilson throws 3 passes that were 15 or so yards off target but hey we won't pass anymore because we proved the point it's kind of like sayin "see we showed you we couldn't pass so we have to run it" Would I like too see them Run anm Offense Like Florida's Shotgun Spread Option? Yes Would I like to see them Throw it around like the St. Louis Rams' "Greatest Show On Turf"? Yeah...but I know that it takes a coach outsider the box to execute and run an offense like that...but in closing all i've got to say is as of this post what offenses do the #1 and #2 teams in the BCS standings run?...

i dont see why we are talking about someone who doesnt even play varsity before this season is over and idk why people are complaining about. this kid has more td's than any other back up q on the team. why question the coaches? nothing you say is going to change their minds. lets focus on this year.

"can't we all just get along?" This would be a boring forum if everyone agreed on all subjects and never had another opinion to make. That's what gets people involved. I will never claim to be a coach, but I do have the right as a fan to make comments that I hope would not be deemed as negative.

2 things the comprmiser this kid has benn starting special teams the past several weeks and doing a pretty good job. think back to the first game of the sectional against mitchel the fumble recovery on the punt that turned the momentem our way. and second you help prove realisticfans point he does have the most touchdowns of any back up with the fewest reps or touches of any back up qb. go rams

lets see: the TDs were against two teams that were both 0-10 this year. And I saw three fumbles in what a dozen touches. Your wonder boy is not ready for prime time yet. Balsmeyer has stated over and over that you win with Juniors and Seniors. A sound philsophy.

Not sure what you were reading there gorams. Never said he should be starting QB next year. Only questioned why you would move a kid with his running ability to receiver where in this offense he will not get enough touches. The fumbles you referenced happened in the exchange between qb and back. nothing a few reps together wouldn't solve. Not sure you know what your talking about. as far as the wonder boy comment, I challenge you to anyone whose jr high numbers are better than his. it would take you a while i guarantee you that. He could be 1 of the better ones if he touches the ball enough.

No disagreement about the potential. But you don't want to put someome in a situation until they are ready. Alot of kids with great potential have been ruined that way. Jr high numbers indicate potential, but only the future will tell. A lot depends on the rest of the team. Meanwhile it is a good idea to learn other positions until your turn comes. I would think he would make a good slotback. It is nice to have a slot that can throw. Lee W is the same way.

I wasn't going to post on this topic. I just wanted make sure no one confuses me with gorams3. I did not change my "name". I am the original gorams for better or worse. All I will say is to trust the coaches, they have proven they know what they are doing.

I hope we win tomorrow night, but I don't think we have the horses this year to do it against B'town. Plus, we don't have home field advantage. If we do win, I'll be the first one to run around the townsquare on Saturday morning saying I was wrong. Any bets?

People who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. You fit that perfectly. Now, if you wont to keep on posting negative things about the offense, be my guest. I've said my two cents worth.

this is my last comment about your comments. First of all, I would comment about individual call playing. I'm not the coach, you must be one. As far as the "glass house", if the shoe fits, wear it. I've said my peace. Go Rams.
