I was at the freshmen game. They looked really good. I do notice a drop off in speed in this class but still, fundamentally sound.

A drop off in speed compared to who? The Sophomore class? We haven't had many classes with as much speed as them. I actually think that is a blessing for this group of kids. That 10th grade class has always just been better physically then who they have played. Therefore I feel that they haven't had to work as hard at technique and fundamentals. That Freshman class has had to rely more on those things to be competitive. And if you look at their record over the last couple of years they are improving every year. I feel by the time these guys are Juniors we could have a scary good team. Not that we already don't:) GO RAMS!!

I really don't understand some of the comments on this board. I was simply pointing out that this class lacks speed, similar to the junior class. It's not the end of the world but speed it pretty important in football. I did not say they were terrible or anything remotely close to that. Just pointing out something I noticed while watching the game. And I do agree, when these kids are jrs, along with the sr class, we will be very good. Pretty good right now)

Realistic-

The point I was making is that the Frosh class as a whole isn't as fast as the present sophomore class. I know you were just making an observation and I was too. If you look at the end of my post I talk about how good of a team we could have when these present sophomores and the present Frosh class are juniors and seniors. I was just saying that sometimes when you are simply more athletically gifted at an early age sometimes you don't learn how to work hard. Mainly because you have never had to work hard to be successful.

That makes sense. And this group has indeed improved. I watched them all thru jr high and they struggled at times. I was pleasantly surprised Monday evening. The beat goes on...hopefully.
