Well, this is the game I have been waiting for. I think we can all agree that we should be undefeated and barley tested at this point. That changes now. We are facing the type of team we will be facing in sectional and regional games. This should be a really well played and well coached game on both sidelines. Two good teams going head to head. I would not want to bet on this game. Hopefully we don't have the fumble follies like we did against Valley. Good luck to all the boys and coaches and GO RAMS!

I agree. I think this game will be our first real test. I think we got SV and Mitchell's best shots, combined with the fact that we didn't play our best football. We have to play mistake free football this week. I think RJ is settling in on the playcalling. He has mixed it up well this year and I think he also has some tricks up his sleeve for this week. Good luck to all the coaches and players!

I agree as well, we have caught alot of slack this year for a weak schedule , I think the next few games will be a chance for the boy's to test themselves, and see if they really want to do what it takes to get where they want to go. I have thought it over alot and I see no reason why we can't finish up unbeaten, but our boy's will have to get after it for sure. GO RAMS

This will be a tough hard nose hard hitting game that will be a good one for fans too watch if Corydon comes in with the speed I hear they have and the Rams start off slow it will be a long night for The Rams you know it too me will be like the Sectional Finals against Brownstown last year where Brownstown got the momentum goin and The Rams were just stuck in shock mode most of the game this new "Flex Coast Offense" The Rams have been experiementing with too me in a game like this you will see how good your passing game is to help out the run game because i'm pretty sure that Corydon will be tough for the Rams to run on I just want to see how far the passing game has evolved from a screen to the slotbacks or will they mix in some crossing routes coming across the middle or some more downfield action you know if the Rams are more 50/50 run pass in the game instead of 80/20 run pass then the game should be more entertaining...will be interesting on how much power and speed Corydon has this season...

ShiZZ,
What in the world is this "FLEX COAST OFFENSE" you speak of? I get a kick out of some of these names you come up with. I don't really think RJ has changed a ton of stuff since he has been the OC. What you have to understand is that these kids that are playing have been running this offense for like 5 or 6 years. Every year Coach B is here we have more and more experience at the varsity level. Pretty soon you will have young men runnind this offense since they were in grade school. And defense for that matter. With that bein said I think opening things up a little is a natural progression. Any way I look forward to a great game tonight! GO RAMS!!!

I dont want to be negative but we better open it up tonight. Really dont think we are going to run the ball all that effectively against Corydon. I know we can do what we need to do, just hope we do it.

note to coaches. you can't coach and we can't play zone defense.

The "Flex Coast Offense" or why I call it that is based off how the offense The Rams run is the Flex and the passing game reminds me a little of the passing game of the Bill Wash "49er West Coast Offense" so I just combined the two that plus I kinda like using that as a cooler way of describing The Rams' offense...

and more about the Corydon game will come later

I thought it was a good effort against a good team. Aside from a hand-full of mental mistakes our team played well. We ran the ball good against them and even had the better line alot of the time. My thoughts would be that several different events conspired against us to get the result we did. First off none of the kids could have been focused on the game with out being worried about the other situation taking place. Then you also had a different coach calling the D, and MOTIVATING. Also noticed alot of our kids were falling in the mud. As far as Zone D- we were in cover 3 and that was the correct call. But we still have to execute. A guy could sit here and talk about it all night, But bottom line is we played a good game against a good team and made too many mistakes to win. However I feel pretty good going into sec. with what I saw, and the boys are going to keep getting better.

The Rams won't beat the good teams until their passing game gets away from the "5 yard pass" routine and goes more downfield....didn't see Corydon have any problems "Unleashing The Handcuffs" on their playbook and throw some bombs downfield...what makes me mad the most is The Rams were down 21-0 at what point do you say "we need to open up the passing game and go downfield to score points?" never did...once again it comes back to the passing game....

half back pass way down field nearly picked, streak up left side line was picked, go route on screen called but not ran. That's three same as Corydon, difference they executed, It's not the lack of trying to throw it's the getting it done, Frnakly the pass attempt that got picked and gave them good field poss. may have hurt as much as thier passing game. If your team is not getting it done on the passing game what would you do? Sounds to me like you may have let us throw about 10 picks and get beat by 50. We moved the ball well doing what we did, penalties and turnovers were the diff. in the game. (always is between good teams).

I respectfully disagree with you. to many blown coverages. man up and let the athletes play it out.

The problem I see with running man with our team is that we use the db's for alot of run support. I would say that we could have went man on the pass however once they saw that they would have run the ball. (that is what they also perfer to do). We did a great job of stopping the run, Just need to work out a couple of coverage mistakes. They threw because we forced them to and thats what you want, just got to finish.

i understand what you are saying concerning the run support. however, any team that has an accurate qb and capable receivers always seems to have wide open pass plays against us. There is not enough descipline to run the type of defense we try to run. Brownstown gets us almost every year passing the ball. Perry also when they need to pass. Its just frustrating watching the team play head to head with Corydon and see passes to WIDE open receivers for touchdowns. I know for a fact its frustrating to some of the players. They were no better than us. Blown coverages killed us.

I think everyone needs to relax and get a grip on life. This game is over and done with. There is no need to second guess our coaching staff. If you have that much knowledge of the game and see the talents of each player during each week, then maybe I could understand.

We got lulled into a comfort zone with our first five games.Let's move on because we have more tough games ahead of us. Good luck this Friday night. When you get deep into your schedule, anything can happen.

I agree that the pass defense on the two touchdowns in the end of the first half were killers... but in defense of the players, when we play so many teams that run 80-90% of the downs, it's tough to be mentally ready at a moments notice for the pass, but no doubt that is what we have to do. We have talented and athletic defensive backs with speed, and I'm sure it will be a point of emphasis this week.

I think we will be fine going into the final third of the season, but it will be the mental side of the game that the kids will need to focus on.

of course I am not saying anything you guys don't already know.

I would say Perry better be ready for us. I have a feeling we will be highly motivated this Friday.

On a side note, I hear the Corydon players were very complimentary of our players during and after the game. Much different than the trash talk they heard after the Mitchell game. I witnessed some of it myself after the game.
