Good pitching and very good defense key Sides win.
Starter Kaz Arakawa threw 6 good innings, only allowing 1 earned run, and Rich Fallat and Mike Cahill finished up. The Sidewinders made three outstanding web-gem plays in support of the pitchers. Casey Matthews playing 2B today made an all out dive on a 2-hopper, and was able to get to his feet and throw out a Crawdad. SS Chris Healey made a lay-out, full extended dive into the 5-6 hole on a low liner for another out, and LF Rich Fallat made a tough running over the shoulder grab in the alley to take a double away from another Crawdad. With the sticks, Healey led the way with 3 hits. For the Crawdads, Sam Fusaro had a double and triple, and starter Zachary Mann hurled a complete game.
