Stallions Charge into Championship
Jack Sanchez twirled a masterful 5 innings for the Stallions, holding the tough Bruins to one run, as the Stallions plated a run per inning in 4 of the 5 innings to hand a 4-1 lead over to Junior (Cy Young) Esparza in the 6th. Jr. went on to blank the Bruins in the final 4 innings. Jr. was also a one man wrecking-ball at the plate, 6-6 with 3 singles, 3 doubles, 6 runs scored along with an RBI and 2 stolen bases. Stallions bats finally exploded for 8 runs in the 9th to break a hard-played game wide open. The Stallion 21 hit attack was highlighted, aside from the Esparza machine, by 4 base hits from Dave Chambers, 3 hits from Mark Kaeller; Klaus, Mike Morgan and Sanchez garnering 2 hits apiece. Jr. Esparza's offensive output brings his playoff totals to 11 for 11.
