How Bout Dem Bandits????

It took 10 innings of back and forth baseball in stifling heat but the Bandits came out the victors with a walk off single by Jerry Whittaker to give the Bandits their first ever championship in 20 years. The Bandits and Stallions couldn't be any more even as the Bandits took round one 4-2 and tied 4-4 in round 2. Today the Bandits jumped out to a 2 run lead only to see the Stallions get 3 in the 3rd. Jeff Gould started on the mound but had to leave due to heat and control issues. Whitaker took over in the 3rd and went the final 7 1/3 allowing one earned run. The Bandits put two more back on the board in the 4th with back to back squeeze plays and then it stayed even until the 9th when both teams scored one. On to the 10th and Whittaker comes to the plate with the go ahead on 2nd and finds the gap in left center to clinch the win for himself and the Bandits. Shortstop Kevin Bronson had 3 hits on the day including a lead off single in the 10th to set up the win. Eric Lozano had two hits on the day while #4 hitter Darren Hubert had two doubles, the 2nd of which tied the score in the 9th. Web gems by both centerfielders with the Bandits Andy Schwindt hauling in some game savers for the Bandits while right fielders Ray Smith and Dennis Clancy do the same. A great game by two teams playing excellent baseball.
