Titans season comes to an end to Alexandria

Alexandria proved that they were the favorites in the Kokomo/Taylor Sectional and defeated Taylor in Round 1. In fact, Alexandria went on to beat Elwood in the Semi-Finals and Tipton in the Championship game to advance to Regionals.

Matt Etherington held the Titan batters in check as he threw a 7 Inning Shut-out. He also pitched a 7 inning game on Memorial Day in the Championship against Tipton. Taylor only managed 4 hits and struck out 12 times as 8 of the 9 Taylor hitters struck out at least once.

Peyton Tracy suffered the loss. He pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up 4 runs in which 2 were earned. He struck out 2, walked 2, and gave up 6 hits. BJ Pemberton threw the remaining 3 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs, BUT both were unearned as the Titans committed 4 errors during the game. BJ struck out 1, walked 1, and gave up 3 hits.

Clay Brubaker was 2 for 3. Owen Farrington and Bailey Owens each added Singles to account for the 4 Taylor hits.

Taylor finished 14 & 13 on the year. Finished 2nd in the HHC with a 5 & 2 record. Seniors Mason Cheek, Peyton Kellerman, Bailey Owens, Caden Sullivan, Wynn Takacs, and Peyton Tracy will be greatly missed. That Senior Class accounted for 74 Wins between the 2015 and 2018 season, captured a Sectional Title and an Elite 8 appearance in 2015, and two Hoosier Heartland Conference Championships in 2016 & 2017.

Bailey Owens is going on to play college ball at Goshen College. Peyton Tracy is going on to play college ball at Rose Hulman.
Wynn Takacs is going on to play college ball at Carl Sanburg JC.
Peyton Kellerman and Caden Sullivan are going on to play college ball at Ancilla JC.
