Thompson Tosses a No-No

Steve Thompson took the hill once again for Mericle Real Estate and proceeded to throw a no-hitter against Pizza Bella. Thompson went four innings, struck out 10, and walked six for the win. With the victory, Mericle improved to 5-4 and begins to make a push towards the playoffs. Pizza Bella fell to 2-7, with playoff dreams all but shattered.

Ryan Anthony led the offense for Mericle as he blasted two more homeruns, moving him into a tie for the league lead with five. Chris Hiester went 4-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI for the winners. Thompson also contributed at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two doubles, and three runs batted in.

Gary Wolczak took the loss for Pizza Bella, throwing all four innings while allowing 14 hits. He struck out six in the losing effort.
