Brewers Beat Bandits, 6-1
Brewers' starting pitcher, Greg Bertrand, shut out the tough Bandits squad on two hits for the first five innings. Joe Pita, yielded one run on nine hits through the final four frames, but made big pitches when needed. They were supported by timely Brew Crew hits (all singles), led by Eric Cain's three hits, followed by two-hit games from Raul Verdecia, Matt Trites, Pita, Jim Fier (fresh off the DL), and Sam Kason. The defense was solid, as was the overall team effort from the 2013 Valley Brewers.
The Bandits had two-hit games from Jesse Gill, Mark Gorman, Jeff Wells and Sam Hoffmire.
