Brewers Defeat Upgraded Stallions Squad, 7-2
The Brewers faced a vastly improved Stallions squad, with starter Martin Campbell holding the Brew Crew to four runs over eight innings. Their defense was also a lot stronger.
But the Brewers also got solid mound performances from their trio of Greg Bertrand, Joe Pita, and Bill Minnis, limiting the Stallions to two runs (one earned) and seven hits. The Brewers also got another three-hit game from Eric Cain, plus two-hit games from Matt Trites and Bertrand.
The Stallions got two hits each from Donat Kazarinoff and Campbell, while Daniel Gutierrez's double was the only extra-base hit of the game.
