Sly Brewers Have "Hot Fun In The Summertime"
With the temperature topping 100 degrees at Valley College, the Brewers collected 27 hits, including 10 doubles, to go with their 27 runs. Mark Lenhoff led the hit parade, going 4-5, with three doubles and nine RBIs! Equally hot were Eric Cain, enjoying a perfect 5-5 day, with five RBIs, and Matt Trites, 4-5, also driving in five. Augie Alonso had three hits and Joe Pita had two doubles to drive in three. On the mound, Greg Bertrand was solid as usual, giving up four hits, no walks and one run while winning his 11th game without a loss. Sam Kason finished up on the mound with two scoreless innings.
Hats off to the gutsy Sharks who hung in there despite the heat, the score and the necessity of having to use two pool players.
