Nice Excels Riders' Bats to Victory
The RoughRiders (8-3) scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th to erase a 7-6 Hurricanes (5-4) lead in a back and forth offensive game.
For the Riders, Jake Nice hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the game at 4. It was his league leading 2nd homer of the season. Dan Romano and Joe Prevost each had 2 hits and Romano stole his 13th and 14th bases of the season. Joe Anastasio hit his first Glory Days double to lead off the bottom of the 6th, where he went on to score the game tying run. The Riders will be back in action again Sunday morning against the Hurricanes which will decide the season series.
For the Hurricanes, Ryan Allen and Paul Gudzak had 2 hits each including doubles. Hiram Ortiz went 2-3 with 2 RBI. The Caputo brothers, Paul Friedman, Vinny Gibson, Randy Hudak and Darin Walden also added hits. The Hurricanes will face the RoughRiders in a rubber match on Sunday morning, as mentioned above.
