Blue Jays take early lead, hold off Squires

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 2-run lead in the first inning, and they never looked back. They then stretched the lead, but the Squires began to chip away. However, they just couldn't grab the game by the throat. The Blue Jays kept the pressure on with timely hitting and sound defense, while the Squires left several men on base and several opportunities waiting in vain. Costly errors hurt the home team, and the visitors took advantage. The Jays were solid throughout, and their victory was a well-deserved one, as they retain sole possession of second place in the standings.
