Mechanicsburg Beats NC on strong pitching debut by White
The Cardinals beat New Cumberland on Saturday afternoon on a strong pitching performance by Charlie White. He held the potent New Cumberland bats to 2 runs on 7 hits.
Mechanicsburg got on the board with 2 in the 1st on 4 hits including a double by Ryan Wentzel. They got another in the 3rd when Josh Herring reached on an error. He moved to 3rd on a single by Ben Eppley and scored on Kyle Hannon's sacrifice fly. NC made it close with single runs in the 3rd and 4th. The Cardinals broke it open with 2 runs in the 5th on Ryan Gray's double. They got 3 more in the 6th on a single by White, and error and a stolen base. White came home on a strike out/passed ball which allowed Zeb Stough to reach base. He scored on Wentzel's single.
