Titans lose opener to Alexandria

The Taylor Titans struggled defensively with 4 errors that allowed 6 unearned runs as they faced an Alexandria team that hit on all three phases with great pitching, great defense, and great offense. The Tiger pitcher struck out 11 of the 21 outs and made zero errors. They recorded 11 hits, walked 5 times, and got on base with 4 Titan errors and capitalized with reaching base 20 times by scoring 10 runs. On the flip side, the Titans suffered defensively by allowing 6 unearned runs and literally were robbed by Alex's great defense of at least 3 or 4 hits by great defensively plays.

Peyton Tracy toed the rubber for the first time in his Titan Career and really did a good job for his first outing. He did not walk any and struck out 4. PT did exactly what he needed to do and threw strikes. BJ Pemberton also got his first varsity innings and if you take away his two first batters that he walked and both scored, then BJ's performance was impressive as he only faced 10 more hitters (after the 2 walks). He gave up 1 hit and struck out 2. Jacob Isaacs pitched the 7th and had 2 outs with 0 runs scored when the Titan defense had 2 errors that led to 4 7th inning unearned runs.

The Titans could not muster much hitting as they only were able to send 25 hitters to the plate with 1 walk and 3 hits. Owen Farrington was 2 for 3 and Wynn Takacs hit a Double to account for the titan 3 hits.
