I Refuse To Be Cut!

The Diamonds fell to the Mississauga Knights 9-2.

But the real story was the 9th inning where York came in trailing 4-2. Ken Seville came on and walked both batters ha faced, prompting his unconditional release after the game to which Seville initially refused to be cut. Undaunted skipper Dave Quennell went through with the release anyway.

Seville was followed by wristwatch wearing lefty Darren Robertson in his first (and last) appearance for the Diamonds. Robertson gave up a hit a walk and 4 balks before Quennell came to the mound, removed him from the game, cut Robertson on the spot, and then went in to pitch himself.
