Commack "Wins" Opening Match on Western Mass Forfeit
The 2006 Inaugural Edition of the Empire Cup Premier Tournament kicked off on Saturday, July 15th under warm conditions with very high humidity. The Commack Blasters had a great warm-up in anticipation of this 8:30am match but after fifteen minutes of waiting at the field, the referees declared the forfeit.
As it turns out, the tournament staff were told that Western Mass would be checking-in on Saturday morning, but the team never showed for the event.
