Early Goal Allowed, Late Offensive Push Comes Up Empty

As Day Two at the 2006 MAPS/MSSL Girls Winter Tournament Showcase debuted, the weather had improved from the opening day with temperatures around fifty degrees and substantially less wind. The Blasters found themselves facing a familiar opponent in the Stonybrook Xtreme.

Stonybrook netted the game's only goal early in the first half on a controversial play that was thought to be potentially offside. Regardless, the play stood up as the only goal for a 1-0 Stonybrook win.

Throughout the second half, the Blasters held the better of possession and field position, but even with the late game attack, the team could not finish some of the late game opportunities.
