Entry ID: 1797830 | Why is it that in softball, the only way for a girl to get treated faily is by who you know? Tryouts for any allstar team are already selected even before the girls try out. If the girls parent is a coach it is automatic that she is on the team. That makes it real fair to the other girls who try out and don't even get a second look, even if they are better than the coaches daughter. Situations like these makes me not even want my daughter to be part of the ggsa anymore. I hope that this kind of treatment changes in the future. |

Entry ID: 1789323 | Well here we are again starting another season and nothing has changed much. Why cant we just go out and play and be here for the girls and not for the coaches. I thought we were to see that the girls have fun and not conflicts and for the past 4 or 5 years thats all the senior league has been about. Every coach out for themselves and not for the girls. I just think its time a that all the senior league coaches one in particuliar stop trying to cheat and win a game fair and square. If this dont stop soon then eventually there wont be a senior league cause there wont be any girls that will want to play cause it just wont be any fun anymore. So im hoping that people and other coaches in all leagues read this and stop all the cheating and trying to do whatever to win a game the cheating way, what is this teaching our girls? If they see that cheating is ok during something thats supposed to be fun then they will go into this big ugly world that we have to live in thinking it is ok to do in the real world which is already hard to live in now adays. Lets just make the rest of the season for the girls and have fun and just play the game as its supposed to be played and take the win or lost of a game as a proud caoch and parent and not as a BIG FAT SORE LOSER. |

Well here we are about to start yet another new year. This will be my 19th year Happily spent
at the Greenville Softball Field.. or should I say feilds..we started out on Ohio St.. What a much better and larger field we now have for our daughters grandaughters sisters cousins neices friends and family... I as many of you have watched many of these young girls grow into young women.. Teachers and Parents always get reconition for their contribution in our daughters lifes..But I would like to take a minute and also include coaches, asst. coaches, team parents, team helpers, the officers/trustees, other parents whom pitch in when needed too, those whom also worked the concession stand, watched a base or just for moral support... Know matter what part we have/do play in these young girls/ladies lifes out here on the Softball field just keep in mind that we are also helping to guide them to a better future.. So the next time any of us parents coaches family friends or anyone whom would like to express a thought or issue negitive of positive..Try and do so in a respectful manner so that this year can be one of the best years to remember out here in Darke Co. at OUR GREENVILLE GIRLS SOFTBALL FIELD! Good Luck to everyone and Have a Great and Happy Safe Summer of 2010.... Remember=P>E>T> Praise Encourge and Thank the girls and coaches to remind everyone that we are out here this year to have FUN FUN and more FUN!
Have a Great Summer

Entry ID: 1626096 | I had a question. This is my last (and 15th)year. I was curious if there was a way that next year if I could be an assistant coach. I don't have a child that plays. (or at all for that matter ha!)Who would be the best person to ask. I love GGSA so much and want to stay involved even though next year I won't be aloud to play. |

Entry ID: 1419730 | This past weekend our 8-U ALLSTARS played in their second tournament of the year at West Milton with the first being in Fairborn. Our Girls placed 3rd out of 4 teams in Fairborn getting knocked out by Middletown who we beat earlier in the tournament. Our Girls faired better their second time around in West Milton's tournament. We drew Middletown (who we saw alot of in Fairborn) for our first game of the tournament on Friday and won that game by 2. Saturdays games were cancelled because of weather. This pretty much meant that our Girls were going to have a long day on Sunday. We opened up with Tipp City on Sunday and a win. Our next game pitted us against Covington and another win. This brought us to the semi-final game against Carlisle. The Girls squeezed out a win, in a nailbiter of a game, and a chance to win the tournament with a win against Middletown. Middletown jumped on us right off the bat and never looked back. Our Girls played their hearts out but came up short. Our Girls have nothing to be ashamed of placing 2nd out of 12 teams and going an impressive 5 and 1 for the weekend! The next time you're at Stebbins congratulate the Girls on a job well done!
FYI!
The Girls will be playing in Brookville this weekend so come out and support the 8-U ALLSTARS!
