For baseball, as a Little League charter, we participate in the Little League World Series Tournament, and we have specific boundaries from which our players must reside to be eligible to play in our league. If you live within the boundaries of this map, you may register to play in Dallas Little League. If you don't live within these boundaries, you can check the Find a Local League page on the Little League website.

In our league, teams are usually based around a core group from a school.  Individuals also sign up and will be placed on existing teams or put together to create new teams.

2013 Dallas Little League Boundaries

DLL Boundaries 2013

Players registering to play in Dallas Little League must live within the league's boundaries.  If you do not reside within our boundaries, please go to Little League's League Finder page to determine if you live within another league's boundaries.

Waivers

Little League grants waivers under certain conditions for regular seaon and All Star play.  The most commonly granted waiver is where the player does not reside in the boundary, but goes to school within the boundary.  There is also a waiver for players who played in the league in the previous year when they lived within the boundary, but either the league's boundaries have changed, or the player has moved outside the boundary.  The player must apply for the waiver in the season immediately following the one in which they were eligible.  Once the player plays in another Little League, he is no longer to use this waiver to play in our league.

To apply for a residency waiver, please follow the instructions on the attached form, complete it, and send to Robbie Kipness, VP Administration.

Residency Waiver Form - For players who do not live in our boundaries, but go to school within them. When this waiver is granted, it is typically for Regular Season and All Star play.

Regulation 2D Waiver Form - For players who played in DLL last year, and no longer live within our boundaries.

Regulation 4H Waiver Form - see below

If a person had previously resided within the league boundaries for two years while serving that league as a dedicated manager, coach or member of the Local League Board of Directors for two years, his or her sons and/or daughters are eligible to try out and be selected by teams in that league (1) provided such service to the league from which the person has moved has continued, (2) subject to written agreement from the league within whose boundaries they currently reside and (3) supported by a recommendation of the District Administrator, to Regional Director to the Charter Committee.

Spring 2013 Registration

Medical Release and Volunteer Forms:

When you're registration is processed, there is a "Downloads" link on the receipt page and in the email confirmation where you can download the Medical Release and Volunteer forms.  Upon completing the Medical Release, it will go to your team's Manager.  They will put in a binder and bring to games in the event of emergency medical care being needed.  All players must have turned in a Medical Release before practices and games begin.  If you're going to be on the field with kids, or acting in a supervisory capacity for the league, you will need to complete a Volunteer Application and a background check will be performed.  After completing the form, please turn it into Nancy Bernadino, Badge Manager.

New Player to DLL:
Players individually registering who will be entering Dallas Little League for the first time will be assigned to a team.  We will make every effort to assign a player to a team near their home zip code or with players from the same school, however this can not be guaranteed.  If you would like to request a specific team or coach please note that in the "notes" field of the registration form.

Returning Players:
If you are a returning DLL player and your team is playing again, there is a field on the registration form to select your previous team from the drop down box (teams shown are from Spring 2012).
  • If you are returning DLL player and your team is not playing this season, or
  • If you are a returning player who wishes to be placed on a team other than your previous team, or
  • If you are a returning DLL player who is moving up a division without your team

Put any team/coach preferences in the "notes" field.
If no preference, you will be assigned to a team using the New Player criteria above.

Scholarship Program:
Dallas Baseball and Softball Association wants every player to be able to participate regardless of financial condition.  Every year, funds are set aside to provide for players where fees are a financial hardship.  When filling out your registration form in the Online store, simply check the box for "Scholarship Needed".

A note on registration fee calculations

Calculating player registration fees for the league is an ever-changing process due to the huge growth of the league from year to year.  This year's fee structure is roughly equivalent to Spring 2012, but differs in the following ways:

  • Uniforms are NOT included in this year's registration fees.  We've done this because many teams use uniforms from previous seasons, it's become harder to centrally coordinate for the number of teams we have, and with the way our City contract is structured it actually costs MORE to go through the league for uniforms for most divisions.
  • Most divisions will be playing at least 2 more games due to post season playoffs being added as part of the registration fee
  • The Intermediate (formerly Majors) division has a significant cost increase as Little League insurance is more than doubled for the program
  • Money from team sponsorships is now going to teams rather than the league
  • League growth means that most divisions will be playing some games on additional fields (like Norbuck and Fair Oaks) where we have field rental fees that are higher than our negotiated contracts for Winfrey and Bethel
  • The addition of the Division Classic Tournament last year added more league costs for tournament and umpire fees that we now can budget for

Softball Partnership Announcement

Dallas Little League is pleased to announce a partnership with the Spring Valley Athletic Association (SVAA) to provide a consolidated girls softball program for players throughout North and East Dallas.  This partnership will combine softball teams from both leagues and provide a broad reaching, fun and competitive recreational league for girls in the area.

The SVAA will be running the operations and administration for the league.  Register online through March 4th.

The season will run from mid April through the end of June (exact dates will be released once registration closes)

If you are interested in coaching a team, you will need you to attend Positive Coaching Alliance training and complete the SVAA coaches’ contract available on the SVAA web site.

Former Dallas Little League softball teams will be allowed to stay together, and divisions of play will be determined by player’s grade and not age.  SVAA typically assigns up to 14 players per team, so if your Dallas Little League team does not have a full roster you will be able to have additional players assigned to your teams.

Divisions of play being offered are
