REVISED 5/25/12
12U & 14U:
Teams may bat the entire lineup in regular season play without a penalty for a player not being able to take her time at bat unless the line-up falls below nine players (12U) or eight players (14U). This rule applies to the team with the least number of players present. The team with the higher number of players present only need to bat the same number of batters as their opponent, but may bat the entire lineup without penalty. There is a freedom of defensive substitution for players that are in the batting line-up. For a team batting the entire lineup the courtesy runner will be the last out. Each player must play in the field for two innings as required by Rule #8 under Section 3 ESGSA Rules of Play.

Please note that the ESGSA has always played this way, but it was never written in the rules for 12U+, because there is obviously NO ADVANTAGE to batting your entire line-up. The ESGSA Officers are sorry for any confusion this may have caused and the ESGSA Constitution is currently being revised & will be posted soon.
