Shin guards update
As of Aug. 22, the NFHS recognizes that the screen printed information on
shin guards, specifically the Nike brand, is legal and satisfying the NFHS
NOCSAE requirement. Tags, decals or stickers do not satisfy the rule
requiring a permanent fixed NOCSAE seal. Other companies have made available
the embossed seal and are then in compliance. Your help will be appreciated.

This memo came from NYS to the board. It will be addressed at the Sept. 4 interpretation.
Penalty Kicks procedure
Please read the following Penalty Kick Procedure.

1. Lead official tells kicker to place ball on two foot line or on nine inch circle then instructs kicker to wait for the whistle prior to kicking the ball.

2. Lead official asks kicker if she is ready.

3. Lead official asks goalie if she is ready, when they both indicate that they are ready, the lead official blows his/her whistle indicating that ball is ready for play. If kicker kicks the ball prior to the whistle the kick must be replayed whether or not she scores the goal. Trail Official is responsible for all bookkeeping.
