12U All Stars win Walker Crown

September 12, 2011

The Hamilton Little Lads 12U All-Star Team recently claimed the Lambertville-West Amwell Vic Walker Tournament championship by going 7-1. Hamilton trailed during just one inning in the entire tournament as it dominated.

Highlights from the event included three home runs each by Nate Perez and David Stec, and homers by Chris Rouh, Maguire Balke, Roy Forestano, Dylan Delaney and Tony Morency.

Timely hitting came from by Kyle Harrington, Angelo Sanger, Kyle Liedtka, Ryan Sparks, TJ McKenzie, Miguel Cruz, and spark plug Frankie Vitella.

“It was a total team effort," said manager Bob Liedtka. “Everyone hit from top to bottom, and we had the deepest pitching hands down than any other team in the tournament.” The outstanding pitching was led by Delaney, Morency, Balke and Stec.

“It was really great for the kids to end their little league careers like this,” noted Liedtka. “Not many Little League/Cal Ripken All-Stars can say they won their last game...or last tournament.”
