2007/2008 Team Covenants

1 – Lateness
Training: 7.45 be there for 8.00pm start
Match day: 8.15am pre game means be there at 8.15 ready for warm up drills and any other pre match admin / nets / lining field.

2- The cardinal sin – not showing up on a Sunday with no notice is not acceptable. The more notice we get the better obviously, but just not showing up will not be tolerated.

3 - Shin pads - Must be worn for training as they must be worn for games.

4 - Contact details

4 - Training - all squad members expected to be there unless management told.

9 – Turn up on Sunday ready to play, everyone is giving up time to play so treat them with enough respect to not turn up pissed from the night before, we’re not saying don’t have a beer, but turning up at the merchant on Saturday at 2.30 am stinking drunk does not suggest that you’re going to be able to produce your best On the Sunday morning:

10 - If tired on the pitch, take yourself out - use the subs when we have strength in depth, winning the games is critical and having the energy on the field to make that run, both to support in attack or cover in defense, especially if we have cover on the side will help to have a successful season. Larry in particular is great at this.

11 - Discipline - In game, if you get a yellow card expect to take a breather for 10 minutes. If it's because you lost control you are done for the game.

JCFC History

The Club Today...

JCFC was based in Jersey City from its inception as the majority of players lived and drank in the downtown area for years. Time has passed and only a few remain in JC--we are looking for a new home--as long as there are fresh pints to be pulled near by.

In our previous iteration we trained once, sometimes twice a week. we recognize as life goes on, committing to football 2x a week with wifes, babies and jobs is not doable.

Most importantly we look to find some new members for the club--members that appreciate a good pint of lager after games and training, members who appreciate football--our membership in the past has been very diverse--English, Welsh, Irish, Argentinians, Bolivians, Colombians, French, Italians, one Scott and one guy who changed his flag depending on who was winning that week--and Americans of course--many americans. Our playing style was traditional english football, but over the past two years we've changed as our forwards can no longer keep up with the long ball.

We look to expand and make new friends on and off the pitch, as what sport at our age really is about, is about camaraderie and an excuse to get out of the house.. excercise is a good bonus. But the pints.. ah.. the pints.

Welcome to JCFC, the premiere adult soccer club of Jersey City.

Founded by Paul Grigg and Chris Levendos in 1999, the club spent six years competing in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, winning most of the time and even earning the Fair Play cup one year. In 2005, JCFC changed leagues and joined the Garden State Soccer League.

If you are interested in playing with us, we are looking for Over 30's players who can commit to one training session per week in Jersey City or elsewhere in Central Jersey and to make themselves regularly available on Sundays for a league match.
