The Board of Commissioners would like to thank all of the teams who have cooperated with inputting rosters/stats and submitting the LISM Team Contract in accordance with league guidelines. The inputting of the rosters and stats by all teaams is important to ensure that all teams know what players are on each team. The submission of the LISM Contract is to ensure all teams are familiar with the most important rules and dates of the league.
Unfortunately, a few teams did not meet the June 15th deadline and according to league rules will not be participating in the annual
All-Star games.

LONG ISLAND STAN MUSIAL PLAY PEDRIN ZORRILLA IN INTERLEAGUE PLAY
ON SUNDAY 4 TEAMS FROM THE AAAA PRO DIVISION PLAYED INTERLEAGUE GAMES AGAINST THE PEDRIN ZORRILLO BASEBALL LEAGUE AT THEIR FIELD IN BROOKLYN. ALTHOUGH THE ZORRILLA TEAMS WON 3 OF THE 4 GAMES, THE BASEBALL WAS INCREDIBLE WITH ALL GAMES BEING VERY COMPETITIVE. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE 4 MANAGERS FROM THE TEAMS THAT MADE THE TRIP, MATT AVILA FROM THE WHITESTONE INDIANS, FREDDY MORALES FROM THE NORTH SHORE TIGERS, PETE BLUMENAUER FROM THE LONG ISLAND GAMECOCKS AND GEORGE RHEIN FROM THE LONG ISLAND CARDINALS ALL DID A GREAT JOB HELPING TO MAKE THIS A SPECIAL EVENT. SPECIAL THANKS TO MATT AVILA AND MIKE NUGENT FROM PEDRIN ZORRILLA WHO WORKED HARD TO MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MORE GREAT BASEBALL WITH THE ZORRILLA LEAGUE.
For The Love of the Game..Reflections on All-Star Day
It is a beautiful sunny day at LI Ducks Stadium, a perfect day to play baseball...in fact, a perfect day for 3 great All-Star games... Game one, A Wood, all players showed up as early as 7 AM ready to play ball... my thanks to the managers and coaches of both squads as everything was well organized and the game started after pre-game warm-ups...it is an exciting game, score tied 2 - 2, bottom of the 6th...back and forth, tied 4 - 4 in the 8th, American team scores 2 in the bottom of the 8th for an exciting 6 - 4 win...what a great game...Game two, AAA Wood... players all ready to go at game time thanks again to the managers & coaches, special thanks to the Ducks grounds crew for preparing the field for the second game..
sun shining, picture perfect day, National squad has jumped out to an early 3 - 0 lead in the 4th inning, but some great baseball left to play...American squad chips away
, scoring a run to make it. 3 - 1 going into the 9th...Nationals held on for an exciting 3 - 1 win...as I sit here in the stands watching two LISM baseball teams playing a game this afternoon waiting for the final All-Star game tonight with the song "Centerfield" playing in the background, I realize what a grand day this has been for our league...we get to continue every day to extend our
youth through the game of baseball..for all of you out there, enjoy every pitch, every at bat, every game and keep playing for as long as you can...and now on to Game three, AA Wood under the lights....LI Ducks Stadium looks so special all lit up, my thanks again once again to the managers & coaches for getting everything ready and starting on time and the Ducks grounds crew for another great job...another thrilling game with 3 lead changes and the Nationals leading 2 - 1 in the 5th...an unbelievable day of baseball...still a close and exciting game, Nationals up 4 - 2 in the 6th...as the final game comes to a close, today I can truly say reflecting back this because of everyone's cooperation, enthusiasm and love of the game has been for me in my 46 years of managing as close as I have been to a perfect day of baseball...the weather, the games, the players, the managers and coaches, the Ducks staff, the lighted field, the full moon, the fireworks in the background....simply perfect....my thanks to Jimmy Rose for all his work today and the volunteers at the concessions....hope you enjoyed my reflections of an All-Star game and remember to always keep playing and enjoying... a special thank you to all the Stan Musial fans who came out today to support our players and our league...final game was won today by the Nationals....but today was not about winning or losing, today and last night (AAAA/AAA Wood All-Star game) was about 200 players of all ages showing off their talents and love of the game....today gave new meaning to "put me in coach, I want to play", today everybody played and loved playing....thank you for 17 hours of baseball at its best....Bob DePersio League Commissioner
PLAYER STATS BEING DOCTORED
There has been confirmed reports about player stats on the website being doctored to allow for players to compete in the playoffs. This is absolutely forbidden and will NOT be tolerated. Teams that are doing this will be automatically dropped from the playoff contention and further action will be taken by the Board of Commissioners.
If you find that any team is doctoring stats, please help by letting your league commissioner know. This is completely unacceptable.

REGISTRATION
The Long Island Stan Musial Baseball League is preparing for the 2014 baseball season. We will be having 4 Wood divisions this season and teams have been signing up through the league website. This season, the league and playoff schedules will be handled by the full Board of Commissioners and the President.
It is important that you register your team as soon as possible by completing a Registration form on the league website.
The league administration will be starting the scheduling process on April 15th to ensure a better handling of schedules for the upcoming season.
We hope you plan on returning this year. If not, best of luck to you.
