2018 Season - Weekly Radnor Baseball News - Week of March 11

Welcome to our first Radnor Baseball Booster Club weekly email of the 2018 season.

These weekly emails are intended to keep you up to date on all things RHS Baseball - this and all of the info your son runs home to tell you ;-)  !  In the event you need to refer back to the email but have deleted or misplaced it, you can find the contents of each week's email/edition on our website (  Just click on the "Booster News/Bulletin Board" link in the far left column of every page of the site.  I post the most recent edition at the top of the page so you shouldn't have to hunt for the info.  Enjoy!

Tryouts continue for one last day on Monday after school.  Unfortunately, we do not yet know when the baseball team will be scheduled for use of the RHS gym, so stay tuned for an update once the athletic department publishes the gym schedule for this week.
We'll also be able to provide more information on the practice schedule this week after the gym schedule is published.

Booster Dues

RHS Baseball Booster dues are $150/player and are now payable.  If you have not already sent in your dues payment, please make checks payable to "RHS Booster Club" and mail to:

Bill Marx
144 Eaton Drive
Wayne, PA  19087

The dues pay for many critical items that support the Radnor baseball teams that are NOT covered by the school district.  The Booster Club strives to provide a supportive environment for the coaches and the team to focus in on playing baseball, giving them the facilities, equipment, and encouragement as they strive to excel both on and off of the baseball diamond.

Note that if paying the dues would be a financial hardship for your family, please call or email Bill Marx ( or 267-235-6353) to discuss having the dues payment waived.

Player Emails
While we seem to have most, if not all, families covered by one or more parental emails, we don't have emails for every player.  If your players are not receiving this email, it is because we do not have their email address in our mailing list.  We should have most, if not all, of the returning players in our mailing list, but for freshmen parents, please send me ( your child's name and email address if you want them to receive the emails we send out, and I will add them to the mailing list.  The same goes for any returning players who are not currently receiving the email.  You can also request adding anyone to the mailing list through our website.

If you want updates faster, click HERE  and provide your email address to get notification of any RHS Baseball schedule changes from  This site is updated directly by the Athletic Director's office.  DigitalSports is the first place to be updated.  Our website only gets updated after I receive the email from DigitalSports, so if you want to be the first to know, you can subscribe directly to DigitalSports.  Note that you may find you get a slew of emails for games that are in various states of being rescheduled, so only register for the DigitalSports email notifications if you don't mind a little noise with the notification emails.

Mark your calendars for the following events:
Friday, March 16 - Parents Social at 7 PM at the home of Debbie and Jake Lofton (314 Julip Run, Wayne, PA)
This is a great chance to meet fellow baseball parents and get ready for the opening of baseball season!  Please bring your checkbook as there are some great sports-oriented items up for auction at the social, with proceeds benefitting the Radnor High School baseball program.  There will also be an opportunity to make donations to the Booster Club to further the support we give to the baseball program, including additional field improvements and supplemental purchases as requested by the coaching staff.
In addition to all the great items already mentioned in our previous email about the auction, we recently received a donation of a Chandler bat from the wonderful folks at Chandler Bats in East Norriton!
If you haven't already RSVP'd, please do so as soon as you can at so we know how many people to expect.
Thursday, March 22 - Team Pasta Party at the RHS Cafeteria
Following up on our recent tradition of getting the teams together to enjoy some pasta together from time to time after practice, we are going to have a couple of program-wide pasta parties at the school cafeteria after practice.  Stay on the lookout for an email shortly that provides more details and asks for volunteers to help cook pasta for the team, supervise the event, and perform setup and cleanup for the event.
Saturday, April 7 - Chili's Pancake Breakfast
This is another great fundraiser for the Booster Club and an easy way to get a hearty breakfast on a Saturday morning!  Chili's (, 312 W. Lancaster Avenue) has again graciously allowed us to use their restaurant and provide us highly discounted breakfasts that we can sell to family members, friends, and neighbors who would love to eat some pancakes and help out the RHS baseball teams.  A separate email will come out with information about the event and how our players will be involved in selling tickets to the breakfast.  The freshmen in the Radnor baseball program will be taking care of serving the food to our customers and getting a chance to be the face of Radnor baseball to the community on this day.

Sunday, April 15 - Annual Golf Outing

The annual golf outing is planned for Sunday April 15th at Paxon Hollow Golf Club, with tee times starting at 12:30PM. See attached brochure for information about registering for the outing as well as for sponsorship opportunities.

We have decided to eliminate the after-party this year as attendance has been low. Paxon Hollow offers a great bar, restaurant and patio right off the 18th green where we can gather as each foursome finishes.

Feel free to contact Chris Campbell with any questions at or 610-299-3708.

As always, if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact any of the Booster officers.
