In one of the best played games in years in the SFBL, the Metz beat the Yankees 1-0 in a pitchers duel.. Andrew Smiley pitched a complete game shutout striking out 15 batters . Anthony Aragon also pitched a complete game taking the lost while striking out 14 batters . Both team didn’t capitalized on scoring chances. The only run scored in the top of the 3rd inning when PC Cabrera and Eric Sanchez worked out back to back walks setting up the table for Doug Robinson who delivered on 1-2 count with the runners going hit a soft broken bat pop fly over the SS which scored PC Cabrera from 2nd easily . The Yankees came within inches of tying the game in the bottom of the 9th with  2 outs and a 1-2 count on Iran Negron who hit a line drive off the top of the RF FENCE for a 2b. Andrew smiley got the next hitter to fly out to the gap in RF WHERE Leo Fundora got a great jump on it and made the catch to end a tremendously well played game by both teams.CORRECTION to this post: the count was 1-2 but it was Danier Danny Rodriguez who hit the LINE DRIVE which almost went out of the park to tied the game luckly it hit the top of the Fence for a double with ONLY 1 out. Andrew struck out the next batter and the final out was made by the great catch in the gap by the Metz's RF Leo Fundora.  

                                                      

The Metz will be facing th Rangers this Sunday at Florida Memorial University.  Game is scheduled to start at 1:15pm. 

                                                                          

The Metz Organization elected Scott Grogans as the FIRST EVER TEAM CAPTAIN.  The team never had a team captain and really never thought of ever having one, but through the years Scott has shown that he is truly a Metz. Scott has been with the organization for over 25 years  is still playing and doesnt plan to retire any time soon. Scott is also the only Metz besides PC Cabrera who has won all the Championships in Metz history!!!. The Metz will honor Scott with a "C" on his new Jersey this season..

                                                                              

The Metz came out swinging  determine to show that they will be competing this season scoring 11 runs in the first three innings! The Metz were led by Elio Hernandez who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's in his first game as a Metz. Eric Sanchez, Big Papi Delgado and PC Cabrera each had 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Andrew Smiley pitched a complete game striking out 16 batters,walking only 3 and giving  up only 3 hits in a complete dominating preformance. 

                                                             

The Metz opener has been changed to 10 am at Northeast High school. The Metz will now be opening up against the Hollywood Astros. 

                                                                         

The Metz took care of the Hurricanes easily and cruised to the championship with a 10-3 win and repeating as SFBL Champs for the second time in a row.  It was a sweet win for the Metz who beat both teams which had beaten them during the season. The Marines in the Semi-Finals and the Hurricanes for the Championship. Andrew Smiley took home the game's MVP as he once again pitched a dominating game showing the Hurricanes who Andrew Smiley is. Smiley pitched a complete game striking out 10 Hurricanes and allowing only 1 earned run.

                                                    

The Metz took out the angels in good old fashion way!!!The Angels seem to be heading for their 8th straight championship as they took a 6-0 lead into the 7th inning, but it wasn't just a 6-0 lead it was a no hitter!!! The Metz exploded for 5 runs in the top of the 7th led by Andrew smiley 2 run triple, then in the top of the 8th the Metz scored 3 more, Eddie Cabrera triple to set up the tying run at 3rd, Andrew smiley again came up big doubling in the tying run setting up the stage for the towering 2 run bomb Alex Lopez hit to cap off the come back and beat the undefeated Angels who NOT ONLY HAD WON 7 STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS BUT WERE RIDING A WINNING STREAK OF 77 GAMES IN A ROW!!!!The Angels didn't go down easy as they loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th with one out!! Andrew smiley had just hit his 4th batter of the game and had to be removed with runners on 1st and 2nd. Alex Lopez came in to face the 3rd batter and induced him to pop out on an infield fly to SS for the 2nd out. The 4th batter then hit a rocket in the whole between 1st and 2nd that PC Cabrera was able to stop and keep the runner for move more than one base. Once again the stage was set for a dramatic finish the 5th batter also smashed a hard hit ball in the whole that PC Cabrera was able to handle and flipped to Alex Lopez to seal the win for the Metz and claim the Master's CHAMPIONSHIP! AND AT THE SAME TIME END THE ANGELS 77 GAME WINNING STREAK AND 7 STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!  One Metz player ( Israel Lopez ) was heard yelling "yeah we belong here "!!!  which was then picked up by the entire team!!! Later confirmed by PC Cabrera that is was for a remark made by a few players and coaches from a couple of teams that felt the Metz weren't playoff caliber!!!, which was strange because we won the Division won the Divisional Championship and just won the Master's Championship!!! Go Figure
