  • Common Injuries
: Don''t forget to use the R.I.C.E treatment. Rest, Ice, compression, and elevation. In order to treat and get rid of any injury, The RICE treatment is one of the best ways to go. REST: anytime something hurts, it needs time off to heal. Stay off of it for a couple days. ICE: Its the runners best medicine. Apply ice for 15 minutes, take a 5 min break and do it again. This will really help reduce swelling and speed up the recovery process. COMPRESSION: to reduce swelling and inflammation, compress the injured area. This is mostly for athletes who have twisted ankles. It helps to reduce swelling and slow down the blood flow. ELEVATION: When laying down in bed, put a few pillows under your leg and leave it elevated for a few minutes. That way you let the blood flow out of the injured area. In no time you should be out there running pain free.
