Greetings.  Below is my fifth youth baseball email group for 2011.  You should see 18 items below.  Regardless of whether you are involved with a baseball program, an association, a school district, a media outlet, a team, or no longer active at all, please forward this email on to all of your contacts, asking them to forward it to their contacts, etc, etc and so on.  I don't know who reads this information, but I've compiled it, hoping that through this network, it will help some player down the line.
 
Of special note at this time of the year, I mentioned this item:  The WPIAL Coaches Assn have announced the All-Star teams for its 8th Annual All-Star Games. The games are scheduled for Sun, June 12 at Burkett Field in Robinson Twp. The 1st game starts at 1pm & pits the WPIAL Class A All-Stars vs the WPIAL Class AA All-Stars. The 2nd game starts at approximately 4pm & matches the WPIAL Class AAA All-Stars & the WPIAL Class AAAA All-Stars. Participants will be honored at an awards banquet at 7pm on Fri, June 10 at the Airport Marriott & is open to the public. Contact Tony Villiotti at 412-429-0546 regarding reservations.

1). 2).  AUCTION:  The WPIAL Baseball Coaches Assn is conducting an online auction for the benefit of its All-Star Weekend to be held June 10-12. 3). SEARCH FOR TEAMS: Jamie Howell is registered to umpire at the Cooperstown Dreams Park Week 10, Aug 6 thru Aug 11, 2011. He would like to know if any teams are in need of an umpire for that week. If interested, contact Jamie at 412-726-1770 or  JHcoach19@msn.com.

4).  CAMP:  Steel City Select will conduct a camp in two separate two week sessions on Jun 13th thru Jun 22nd & Jun 27th thru Jul 7th from 8am -1pm, for ages 7-12 at $300 per session.  It will be held at Middlesex Twp Comm Park, 133 Browns Hill Rd, Valencia PA. Each camper will learn & practice all of the BB fundamentals. 5). CAMP: North Hills HS will conduct a summer BB camp on June 20-23 (rain date 24th)

6).  CAMP:  Diamond Elite BB Camp will run on June 6th & 7th at the Police Athletic Fields Facilities-Shafton Complex, North Huntingdon, PA from 9am-12noon each day.  Instructors Include  Mike Conte-Calif Univ of PA, Mick Janosko-St. Vincent College, Jeff Mountain-W&J College, & Adam Jack-Univ of Pgh-Greensburg.   Others include assistant college coaches, HS coaches, college players.  Cost is $75 & includes Diamond Elite Camp T-shirt.  Contact Brian Shipley for more info at 724-433-4259 or brian1024_@excite.com.

7). CLINICS:  The All American BB Center announces its upcoming summer clinics for ages 8-13.  They will run from Jun 13 thru Jun 30th. These 2 day clinics will allow your son/daughter to work with some of the region's top instructors.  They will go thru a series of skill stations in the morning & will play live games in the afternoon.  Campers should bring the following: water, a packed lunch, their bat, glove, helmet, & hat. 8).  TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2011 Keystone Games will be held June 19, 21, & 30 at Woodland Hills HS.  Two tryouts will take place each day, one for the Junior team (2011-2012 9th and 10th grade) and one for the Scholastic team (2011-2012 11th and 12th grade). 9).  CAMPS:  Westminster College will conduct a camp for all ages from June 13 to June 15th from 9am to 12pm at the college field.  It will include pitching, hitting,

10)  SCHOOL:  Matt DeSalvo pitching school will be held July 11-12 at Westminster College from 9 am to 12 pm.  Cost $90 per child.  Teams are welcome.  Students will learn how to throw change-up, sinker, & proper grip on fastball.  Older ages will learn proper grips & technique for throwing curve & slider.  All will receive a conditioning, throwing, & strength band program to maintain arm health & strength throughout the season.  For more info, contact Matt at 724-971-0353 or desalvom@yahoo.com.

11) TRYOUTS:  Dave Kirilloff is hosting tryouts for the Western PA team  that will meet the North Atlantic teams in Allentown PA in August.  The best players from this tier are invited to play in the National USA Ntis in Cary, NC.  The tryouts will be conducted at Thiel College on June 14-15; St Vincent College on June 28-29; & Youthtowne Complex, Clinton PA on July 6-7.  For more info, contact Dave at kirilloff19@aol.com, 412-287-6689, or his website, www.Baseball19.com.

12) TRAINING PROGRAM:  Five Tool Baseball will offer it's summer training program for 2011 at Dinan Field. The program consists of over 80 hours of baseball training.  This year's program includes a new, baseball specific speed & "power" program as well as a comprehensive pitching program. 14) SEARCH FOR PLAYER:  Pittsburgh Crusaders 18U are looking for a catcher for this summer. Interested players should contact Eric Kuczma at 412-953-7807

15) SEARCH FOR GAMES:  The Steel City Spartans are looking for some 14U or 15U teams to scrimmage throughout the spring.  If you have interest in playing some more games, or know anyone who might be interested, contact Bob Sharp at either 412-377-7925 or randsmgmt@aol.com.

16) SEARCH FOR GAMES:  Ron Trombetta is the coach of an independent 11-12 BB team.  They are looking to play some games that are more competitive.  Do you know any leagues or teams willing to play this late in the season. If interested, contact

17) SEARCH FOR TEAMS: For those in high school, the Western Penn Fall League will start its next season on Sat, Aug 27th & continue thru Sat, Oct 1st with playoffs from Oct 3rd thru Oct 15th. Cost is $250 per team. 18) FACILITY:  Monroeville Sports Center is a sports facility for soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball & field hockey.  They have a separate room for baseball batting & hitting & children's activities.
