Carolina Jazz Coaches are prepared to teach basketball skills so that winning on the court is all the more enhanced. However, having a winning attitude spreads beyond the basketball court. Therefore, our Coaches come to Carolina Jazz with a predisposition to build winning attributes in the lives of Carolina Jazz Basketball Players that will be their constant companion as they move throughout life.
Our Coaches are extremely good listeners and they know how to ask the critical questions. They provide guidance to their players and they seek guidance from their players. This two-way approach develops maturity at the same time while teaching is taking place. Although our Coaches provide teaching and training activities, they often use small moments to mentor monumental behavior. This opens the door for our players to move from saying to seeing to doing. The better lessons are usually those that are taught with fewer words and shown through many deeds.
Carolina Jazz Coaches believe that the following qualities reflect what they use as a guide in their teaching and mentoring efforts with Carolina Jazz Basketball Players.
High standards of personal integrity and honesty The ability to make and keep promises Both presence and flexibility during the coaching process An ability to establish trust An ability to plan effectively An ability to manage processes and accountability An ability to express oneself clearly and succinctly An ability to be patient The Coaching Staff is very proud and honored to assist in molding and shaping the lives of young men who become Carolina Jazz players.
